Mu Parlour

This is again going to be another entry with many decor photos. The place is just so pretty I can't stop myself from snapping photos continuously!

Mu Parlour is located at Holland Village. This is the entrance and staircase that leads to the pretty cafe upstairs.

I am definitely very in love with the decor. Love the white wash feel!

So Yea!

Fiona got me hello kitty casings! So pretty!

Finally met up with Fiona and Mai again after so long. We decided to meet at Downtown east, which is near home. I wasn't intending to take any photos, so I went without makeup. Randomly grabbed this clutch below to put my wallet, phone and tissue. Quite a pretty clutch right? It's a free gift that comes with Simply Her magazine some time back. Haha. I am one who will buy a magazine just for a nice free gift. Hahaha.

Ate at Mcds and I decided to introduce them to So-Yea, a beancurd shop opened by my friend Miyo! I love So-Yea. I think it's the best beancurd I've tried, on top of Lao ban, 51, QQ, and other random beancurd stalls. It's sweet enough, refreshing and very smooth!

Floral

While taking photos for the new blogskin with the pink dress, I also took another set of photos on the same day with this floral outerwear from http://mamatiam.com  ($11 only!!)

Love the photos! Thank you Chris Lau for helping me to take such nice photos!

I like all the photos taken in front of the fountain! The effect is so lovely, but my poses all the same hahaha. So I shall post up just a couple!

Actually, these whole set of photos don't look like me. The stupid one-eye crease is really too deep!

Which is your favorite photo? My fave is first two!

47th NDP Pre-Celebrations

I went to Bugis Junction some days back and saw this LEGO® exhibit with some people crowding around. It's part of Singapore's 47th National Day Celebrations! From what I heard, close to 200,000 LEGO bricks and LEGO mini-figures and over 500 volunteers will re-create a Marina Bay Floating Platform replica depicting the National Day Parade. The "Building a LovingSG" structure will span an area of 12 by 9 metres, about the size of a volleyball court. *GASP*

The one at Bugis Junction was just part of it.

So many chefs and construction workers at the LEGO NDP. Haha. Plus got one with stylo-mylo hair. Do you spot it??

By donating as little as a $5, you will receive a pair of customized LEGO mini-figures. All proceeds will go to the Singapore School Pocket Money Fund.

One of the LEGO mini-figures will be placed on the seating gallery of the platform, while the other is for your keepsake as a reminder of your participation. Only 25,000 customised LEGO mini-figures are created for this purpose! I quickly decided to get a pair. You get to choose your LEGO mini-figure's face, shirt, pants and hat/hair/helmet!

Me deciding on my LEGO Mini-figure design. (Photo focusing on the little boy though~)

Besides it sounding like fun, it is also a contribution to charity - The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund!

Check out my LEGO Mini-figures going up the staircase, ready to watch the parade!

I placed this one on a premium front seat!

Besides Bugis Junction, it is also at Funan Digital Mall Level 1, Tampines Mall Level 4 or JCube Level 5 Open Plaza!

If you are keen to contribute as well, head down to the road shows or visit their web.

Anyway, I just went to check out NDP.org.sg and found out about all the activities that are happening for this year's NDP. The site looks interesting! Yes, it is not August yet but isn't Loving Singapore about all the time and not just on 9th August? This year the activities are starting early and they are all so exciting!

Let me share some of the ones that I think you all will be interested to take part in :)

As you all know, I'm currently very into INSTAGRAM, and just nice NDP is also holding an INSTAGRAM CONTEST!

Singapore Instagram (SGIG) is holding a series of 5 photo contest in collaboration with National Day Parade 2012. In the NDP 2012 InstagramSG Photo Competition, from end March to early July 2012; participants can capture photographs that express this year’s NDP theme “Loving Singapore, Our Home”, and post them on the NDP 2012 official website.

Attractive prizes for winning participants include Tablet PC, Smartphone, Movie Vouchers, as well as other goodies! The winning photos will also be displayed during NDP road shows, on the NDP 2012 website and during the Pre-Parade segment of NDP 2012.

It is an invitation for all Singaporeans to join us on the NDP 2012 journey to rediscover and remember what we love best about our country. Sounds cool isn't it?

So far, these are the past 3 themes:
- First Theme: “My Favourite Spot at Home”
- Second Theme: “My Favourite Pastime”
- Third Theme: “My Favourite Person”

This is my instagram photo for "My Favourite Spot at Home"! I took a portion of my bed. Love my bed because it's comfy and Love my bed because of all the little cuties I have. Many more behind me while I took this photo! Just couldn't squeeze all into one photo!

One of the activities also include LovingSG Trails.
The 2nd LovingSG Trail – ‘Urban City Trail’ will be opened from 17 Jun – 30 June.

If you think Singapore is just skyscrapers and shopping malls, you will be in for a surprise. Follow this trail and uncover charming districts, quaint spaces and unique spots hidden in the concrete maze of city life and be thrilled by what you find!

Simply download the NDPOnTheGo mobile application from ‘App Store’ or ‘Google Play’ to participate in the trail. You may stand to win HD LED 3D Smart TVs, DSLR Cameras, Android Tablets, Android Smartphones, Laptops & Shopping Vouchers! Wow!

Another one, which I thought was a very creative and I certainly think the end result would be very touching.

LovingSG: One Heart, One Voice

Do you want to be a part of the National Day Parade (NDP)? Here is your chance to take part without having to go through any rehearsals!

It’s simple. All you have to do is submit a video recording of you singing the national anthem Majulah Singapura. These video clips will be spliced together to form Singapore’s first virtual choir, which will premiere during the NDP on 9th August 2012.

You can also visit the roving NDP roadshows from 2nd June 2012, where there will be volunteers to help you with your submission. You can refer to the roadshow schedule here.

The Rail Mall

I was craving for Epicurious one fine morning and instead of going to the branch at Robertson Quay which I always go to, I decided to try the other branch at The Rail Mall, which is far off at the west.

I did not even know that there's such a place called The Rail Mall! Apparently the name came around because there was a railway near this row of shops.

I'd love to try the outdoor seating but it was really too hot that morning. Opted for the air-conditioned indoors!

My favorite dish at Epicicurious. I always order this! Love the cheesy eggs and bacon. And the roast potatoes. Why isn't this place located near my house? Why????

The big breakfast dish. Yum yum! If I had such breakfast every morning I'd gladly wake up earlier!

I got mysef a side of smoked salmon.

Look at my happy face! Haha.

Even the orange juice was good ^_^ Love fresh sweet and thick orange juice. Hate those flavored or diluted ones!

Afterwards, went to the railway nearby to take plenty of photos!! As you can see in the photo below, it is not a working railway anymore. The railway stops right there.

Ending off with this act-cool-buay-cool photo. Hahaha, pardon me for the spamming of photos of myself! I have never taken photos on a railway before this and had always wanted to! :-P

Skyve

Some weekends back, I met up with the boys at Skyve!

Hahaha. Got too obsessed with the photo taking.

Anyway, I brought the boys to this place because I've seen photos online and thought that the interior is beautiful! I was very sure that they would like it and indeed they love it. Mainly because the clear windows allow natural sunlight to stream in and that creates pretty photos.

The surrounding was quite run down, sort of like an old school compound, but the restaurant itself was a nice place to spend the afternoon. It felt relaxing and away from the rest of the world. It wasn't entirely quiet but it was not crowded either.

Isaac was craving brunch, so we had brunch!

Mine. Love the mushrooms! Scrambled eggs were kinda watery.

Ben ordered Eggs Benedict. Definitely was not presented the usual way.

Isaac had the same as me, but had sunny side up instead.

We moved over to another side of the restaurant to have dessert and laze the afternoon away. Chatted about happy stuffs in our lives ^_^  Usually we meet in the evening and we would only have a few hours together but this time we had the whole day, it felt especially long. We were able to take our time and relax (and take more photos haha).

Comfy sofa seats!

Can you guess who is holding the camera? Me or Benjamin? (Or Isaac??? lol.)

Skyve has outdoor seats too! But I think inside is definitely a better choice, because we only stayed outside for a little while but kena attacked by a dozen mosquitoes.

There is this swing thingy!

We went over to Ion Orchard to shop around :)

Soon, it was dinner time! Isaac told us about this Ramen place at Takashimaya.

Benjamin was SO READY to tuck into food. Hahaha. After the meal he saw photos of me and Isaac pre-ramen and asked why we never ask him take photos too. HELLO, while we were taking photos you were in your own world already rushing to tuck in!!! Lol. Anyway, the ramen was so-so only.

I received yummy fresh fruit tarts that night too! Shared with the family ^_^
