Nadskai Wedding

On 1.3.14, #Nadskai1314 finally happened! Weddings are always happy occasions, and the happiest moment for the bridesmaids (besides seeing our bride tie the knot), is the GATECRASH! *cues evil laughter* hahaha. We thought hard about how to torture the boys and it was so much fun!

There are 5 bridesmaids in total, so we decided to have 5 individual challenges, followed by Suan, Tian, Ku, La, and a wedding contract!

Challenge #1: Each groomsmen has to do 5 push-ups on top of the groom and for every single push-up, the groom has to shout a reason why he loves the bride. Total of 25 reasons! The whole process is face-timed for Nadia, who is waiting in her bridal suite!

One of the boys deliberately kissed the groom in this position. So funny!

Challenge #2: The boys had to follow the yoga pose as shown on the posters provided. It was hilarious seeing how they improvised the poses! Haha!

Challenge #3: They had to wear all these crazy props and dance to the music! We pasted sticky notepads on them and they'd have to dance vigorously to shake them off but they play cheat by using the boas to sweep them off! Anyway, the "decorations" looked super matchy with their outfits! Hehe.

Challenge #4: One of them has to be topless while the rest has to be blindfolded and put on lipstick, choose a piece of card from the basket and kiss the topless man's body part that is stated on the card. Sadly, none of them kena armpit (which would be quite funny especially after some sweaty games hahahahaha).

Most of them are quite lucky and got tame cards but one took the lips card and another took the feet. Everyone was super sporting though, which makes it all the more fun! One of them even managed to plant a kiss on Jacelyn's arm, and claimed victory!!!!

Challenge #5: This one is wild!!!! Every one of them stand in a row, wear undies bearing the name N,A,D,N,U,T, dangle a piece of banana and the person beside has to bite and eat the banana. Lots of laughter during this round!!

Went upstairs and prepared them to a feast of super sour lemon juice (pure juice squeezed fromn real lemons), big bottle of coke, bittergourd with coffee powder, and wasabi collon.

Then, it was ANGPOW time!!!! It was quite funny cos the boys managed to find another door and managed to barge into the bridal suite before we gave them permission to do so!!!!! Carrie chased the groom out and I laugh everytime I think about it.

The groom writes a wedding contract. Nadia will find some way to include the words "chanel bag" in it I'm sure. Lol.

Photo with the bride!

Then, it was time for tea ceremony!

Bunch of baby's breath for the bridemaids. So pretty!

A happy #nadbridesmaids photo!
We were colorfully dressed in Clubcouture customized dresses - Elaine in yellow, Jacelyn in pink, me in lilac, Carrie in light blue and Fidelis in dark blue! It was a wonderful pastel mix of Nadia's favorite colors!

And the groomsmen in vivid colors!

Here's a proper group photo of us!

And one of  us being busy! Love this set of photos!

Afterwards we had lunch and some snooze time! Our schedule was very nicely planned and we had no need to rush, unlike usual weddings! We dolled up for dinner and thanks to Fidelis, I had my hair curled! Love how she did my hair, so nice! I can never do that on my own.

Check out Nadia's floral bouquet for the night. So beautiful and bling and matches her shiny wedding gown!

A group photo of the dearest bridesmaids after changing into our dinner dresses. Without planning ahead, we coincidentally wore the colors blue/red! Mine is actually pink but it looks red in photos so yep, we look like we color-coordinated our dresses!

Check out the hongbao box at the reception, so creative!

Picture of the pretty bridesmaids taking care of the reception. Nadia really chose the right people because these three are perfect people for this. Carrie specializes in public relations, Elaine used to be a stewardess, and Fidelis is just so naturally chirpy, smiley and high!

In between tea ceremony breaks, I managed to snap these few photos of the reception area, which was very nicely decorated!

I really liked the pictures in Nadia's pre-wedding photo album!

I sneakily ate one of the macarons while on the job and it's so yummy! Hehehe.

There was also a photobooth corner, which everybody loved!

Some of the photos taken at the photobooth. Photos are even nicer than the ones in my own camera!

Clara, Milly, and me!

Belinda and me! Everytime I think of Kko Kko Nara I think of her because we planned to go there again for Korean food since afew years ago but it never succeeded.

Rachie, Jacelyn, Eileen, and me!

Managed to grab the busy bride for a photo with Jacelyn and me. Haha.

Bridesmaids photo again! We are Team Bride!

Look at the floral arch at the entrance of the garden-theme ballroom! Pretty!!!!! I just went to google images of floral arch and I am falling in love with every single one of them. Can I have one at my bedroom entrance? Haha.

Rose-petals on the "grass"....

Balloons, flowers, the things that fairytales are made of. The scene was beautiful!

Fairylights on the stage!

2nd march in, Nadia in a purple gown.

I wore earrings from Femmex.

The table's favourite dish of the night. It is exceptionally yums!

The newly-married couple!

A group photo to end this long and colorful blog entry! I wish Nadia and Skai a loving marriage with happiness every single day. Thanks for getting me to be one of your bridesmaids, we are so happy to see you married!

Prata Workshop at Casuarina Curry

Today, I want to share something fun with you all!

I love trying new stuff, especially hands-on activities, so I was quite excited when Casuarina Curry invited me over for a Prata Workshop where I went behind-the-scenes and learnt how to make prata myself!

Stateland Cafe

After many busy weekends, we finally had the chanced to resume our cafe-date routine one fine Saturday afternoon! Bf decided to bring me to this quiet and tiny cafe called Stateland, located at Bali Lane!

Anyway, that morning we actually planned to meet at 10am but at 1015am I suddenly woke up realizing I'm still on bed. Luckily, bf overslept too and is still at home. Phew! Two person wrong better than one person wrong. Hahaha.

Majolica Majorca X Ma Cherie Floral Enchantress

It was my first time attending a Majolica Majorca event although I have noticed their glamorous and beautiful packaging since awhile back! I guess the same applies to their events, because the venue was prettily done up with florals and carnival booths.

Nad Hen's Night (The tame version)

So after the Staycation and Bridal Spa Party, we had our last activity exactly one week before Nadia's big day! This time, dinner and the actual Hen's Night!!

We settled at Feedlot after considering a few places and it is really quite a nice place for an intimate dinner. The manager kindly offered us a cozy corner and complimentary red wine after knowing that it was a special night for our bride. The bridesmaids decided to all dress in pink and it was only then I realized that I only have 1 pink dress in my wardrobe. Time to shop more! Haha.

Yesterday

Chatted with bf over the phone after dinner for almost 1.5 hr and it felt good! I think that communication is most important in a relationship and putting a little time to share one's day is extremely essential to building the bond and feel closer! We used to talk more but we have been busy recently :(

After the call, the first thing I did was to quickly check if I was the one who made the outgoing call or him. Lucky is him! Hahaha. I only have 300 free minutes, cannot anyhow use!

We continued chatting on fb after that and suddenly, he called asking me to open my door. He came to pass me surprise supper! :D

It has been some time since he last did that! He told me that he actually wanted to drive over earlier (so that he can go back and catch the 9pm drama zzz) but I was talking to him on the phone and delayed his plans (and made him missed the show eventually) Haha.

A reminder to self:
live in the moment. don't worry about the past or future, because life will only lead to happier places. if it's meant to be, it will be. and if it's not, something better will come along. because life is always good.

Spent yesterday feeling very inspired. And I hope one day I would be living the life I have always dreamed! I wonder if it's possible for someone to have a blissful happy life with no obstacles or major hiccups? If possible, I want!!!! Can give me? Hahaha.

Friendship

Saw this article some time back and thought I'd like to share!

The article mentioned 5 type of friends.

1) Friends who make the effort.
I realize that among all my friends, there are some who would ask me out from time to time to catch up, etc. And then, there are also some that I would always be the one to ask. Sometimes, it just gets annoying when you are always the one asking, and after some time, you just can't be bothered anymore.

2) Friends who are genuinely happy for me when something good happens.
I know a few like that and I really cherish them :)

3) Friends who are upbeat.
I didn't quite agree with the author over this point. I feel that friendship is a two-way street and I don't believe in choosing "Happy friends" over "Unhappy friends". Quoting a comment on that article, "By rejecting a friend during a time of crisis or depression in their lives, you don't live up to your own definition of a friend. A friend should be there for you, in good times and bad times. Some times the bad times can go on for a long time. It's cruel to abandon a friend during these crises." People say they refuse to be with negative people because it brings negativity to their own lives. I feel that is being very selfish.

4) Friends who are up for anything.
I love friends who are like "OK LETS GO!" whenever any one of us suggests anything. People who I can count on to not back out last minute over stupid reasons like "tired", "moody", or "lazy".

5) Friends who are authentic (and supportive).
Quoting the article, "A true friend will tell you the truth -- and will let you know they'll always be on your side no matter what decision you make even if, in their opinion, it's the wrong one." Yes, I always think that a best friend should be supportive, no matter what it is. I always see quotes on how true friends are determined by how direct (and hurtful) they are, but I think it should be determined by how direct (and supportive) instead. Also, I do not think that being direct but rude and hurtful is anything a best friend should be.

Here are two more points that I want to add to the list.

6) Friends who make sure no one is left out.
Friends who make sure everyone in the group is equal and taken care of, and not leaving anyone out of any decision process. Friends who are easy going. For example, if something is dearly important to one of them, everyone else go out of their way to make sure it happens.

7) Friends who are Non-judgmental, Accepting, and Forgiving.
Calculative and petty friends are a huge headache and you'd always need to tiptoe carefully around them in case you step on their tails. That's why I always feel grateful when friends accept me the way I am together with my flaws and not pick over little things I might have done or said wrongly. Friends should know each other well enough to know that no one is being intentionally bad and have a bigger heart to not judge.

Nuffnang is 7!

Happy 7th Birthday Nuffnang! 不知不觉 I have been with Nuffnang for 7 years already!

Here are some photos from the celebration that night :) The theme was 007, so most of us dressed up in black! Everyone looked so glamorous!

My favourite photo from that night, with my current blog manager Qinxin! She was especially gorgeous that day! 眼前一亮!

It was held at Fullhouse, Clarke Quay! Pretty place for taking photos~!

With Rachell and Yutakis! Both suited up!

With pretty ladies Gwen, Jessica, and Mei Ting!

There was a photobooth corner with props and everyone had fun posing as cool villains/secret agents. With Ben, Peishi, Randy.

Check out Juli, who had the most outstanding outfit that day - a prisoner!!! She even smudged her body and created a "moustache" using makeup! The photos she took with Diya were hilarious! Never go Mediacorp act really is wasted. Haha!

With my previous blog manager Jayne! Although I'm not directly under her care now, but I will always remember how nice and thoughtful she was when handling my matters in the past! Even until now, she still occasionally messages me to catch up, comfort me when I post sad entries on Dayre, and very helpful when I asked for advice! Actually, I feel blessed that so far all the blog managers I've had at Nuffnang are fun-loving people who are genuinely good to me!

Wonderful performances by The Freshman!

And they did this. Everyone was so into the theme! Hahaha.

With Boss Ming! (Photo credit to Mei Ting)

Boss Ming spoke to us, followed by Jayne who introduced what's coming up for Nuffnang and I'm so excited for its launch soon! Then, they had some mini-awards presentation and cake cutting!

Group photo!!!

Love the earrings I wore that day! I was buying birthday presents for a friend when I suddenly saw this piece and fell in love with it at first sight and bought it for myself. Haha. It is a very heavy piece of earring though... Don't think I will wear it often.

My top of the day is from Femmex, completed with a pleated black skirt and purple bangle all from Femmex! I love the flattering cut and design of the top! Too bad I forgot to take a full-body shot~ Will wear it out again and must remember to take photos!
