Taiwan: Xi Men Ding

Xi Men Ding was our favourite place in Taipei. I've liked this place even before I came, mainly because of how it was portrayed in 5566's idol drama 西街少年 during my teenage years. This is the place where the cool crowd hang out, the place where youngsters gather. To me, Taiwan's Xi Men Ding in Taipei is like Hong Kong's Causeway Bay and Japan's Shibuya in Tokyo. Somehow they are quite similar, yet special in their own way. And guess what, these three places are my favourite in all three countries. Looks like I'm still young at heart. Haha.

Just Some Thoughts

Long weekends are awesome! Today is especially shiok because I'm spending the entire day alone at home. It's now almost 6pm but I haven't done anything productive though. Haha. Just lazing around, watching videos and scrolling Facebook.

Sometimes my dad quite blur hahaha

In the past recent months, my dad has been telling me about this Filipino singer who was a very poor guy back in his hometown and he happened to have a very similar voice to a famous singer in a band and one day when something happened to that singer, the band searched YouTube and found this guy and this guy replaced the singer and became famous. It's like a male version of the Cinderella story.

So anyway, few months back he told me once. Then around a month later, he started to tell me this story again. I told him "errr you tell me before already". Lol.

After that, I think he told me about this guy again sometime later.

Then last night, he suddenly turned to me and said "you know hor, in Philippines there is this guy...." In my mind I was thinking "I have a feeling it's that story again." And indeed it was! Then I told him that he already tell me 3-4 times already hahaha and he said "really meh?"

Lol. Funny thing is, when I asked my mum if my dad mentioned anything about this singer, she had no recollection. When I asked my sis, she also never heard of it before. So means my dad has been telling me 3-4 times, but I'm the only one who kena? Hahahah. He's supposed to say once to three of us but I think he totally forgot and I kena all 3 to 4 times while the rest never got to hear his story.

You know how usually we find out something and immediately tell your close friends and then totally forget about it months later? Apparently dad had this on his mind for the past few months because he tried to tell me this story like once every month? Lol.

Taiwan - Wulai

Besides Jiufen and Keelung, we also visited Wulai, another nearby attraction suitable for a day trip out of Taipei's city area. It's located at the southern side of Taipei, and is famous for its hot springs among the mountains.

Nails for Japan Trip

New set of nails done at Millys for my trip to Japan!

My colleague initially suggested matcha colour to match the Japan theme, but I wanted some pattern and matcha colour quite difficult to find suitable nail art to match!

I thought of Sakura flowers, since it's also nearing Sakura season. However, my outfits for Japan are mostly black and dark, so I think darker tones would be more suitable instead of bright summery colours. In the end, I did this dark green combination with shattered glass nails.

Dad's Vlog - Royal Caribbean Mariner of The Seas

Dad took a selfie-pod along on the cruise and what resulted was a video compilation of our happy family vacation on the Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas. It's very different from our usual holiday videos because this time, dad is in almost every frame!! Usually he appears the least as the one behind the camera. Haha.

If I could have it my way, I'd be living in a nice mansion with the balcony overlooking my swimming pool so that I can have breakfast like this every day. But for now, this dream is a little impossible unless I strike the lottery or something, so I can only experience it in a balcony cabin onboard Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Sea!
