Vday 2020

For this year's Valentines date, we went to Shangri-La Hotel for dinner at Waterfall Ristorante...

Actually I had a tiring and bad day and almost wanted to cancel but he already paid in full and i didn't want to waste the money. So we went ahead... Lucky we did cos my mood liven up after food.

Started off with Foie Gras on sticks.... Yums.

Next up, Carpaccio of Octopus, Tuna and Salmon. Heavenly! Loved this one.

Black-inked Tonnarelli Pasta. The noodles were too hard to my liking but taste was okay.

Grilled Seabass Fillet for my main.

And ending off with Vanilla and Bitter Almond Parfait, which tasted just like Ferrero Rocher, except with ice-cream inside.

And if you are wondering why no pictures, it's because I actually went to this nice restaurant dressed down with spectacles. Also, my gift this year came in the form of a gift card via email..... is that married life? Lol.

Knots Living and Cafe

Introducing another pretty cafe!

Met up with Elaine and Milly and we visited Knots Living and Cafe. Check out the pretty interior! It's also very "gardeny" like Cafe De Nicole's Flower but this is more green than flowery.

This is the front part when you step in.

The dining area

And a lovely corner! I'm super fond of sitting at such areas when I'm alone.

By the way, this cafe also double up as a furniture store so if any of the furnishing catches your eye, there is a price tag attached!

We ordered some pastas, buttermilk waffles and chicken wings.

Of course we had to take some ootds at this corner haha. If this dress looks familiar it's because I have the same design in at least 5 different prints/colours.

Was a great catch up! Any other pretty cafes to recommend?

Café de Nicole's Flower

Probably one of the prettiest cafe I've been to. Like, not just the interior design is pretty, even the presentation of the food is pretty.

Check out the beautiful entrance!

In love with the decor!!!

Check out how chio the pancake is?? I am not usually a fan of pancakes but the one here is super fluffy and yummy and makes me want to eat more (even though it's my friend's dish hahahahaha)

I ordered the ravioli, and it was good too! Love the plating.

Smoked Salmon Croissant~ Croissant never goes wrong.

The only probably is.... the cafe is very crowded and the tables are all so tiny that they aren't enough to even put 3 main dish and 3 beverages. We had to remove all our beverage trays to make space and even then, it was quite a squeeze.

Koma at Marina Bay Sands

For my 29th birthday dinner, S brought me to Koma at Marina Bay Sands. The entrance is just right next to Marquee, via this entrance.

I love the interior and vibe of this place! The waitress told us that there are different moods on different days - for example, on friday and saturday there are more clubbing songs because many diners who drop by Koma for first round of drinking before heading to marquee. I went on Sunday so the music was lighter, and it felt like I was in a trendy bar.

Although the interior is modern japanese, the food is fusion. The gyoza and unagi maki were great starters.

We ordered some sushi - not bad but nothing amazing.

I didn't really like the stew dishes... Was too bland for me.

This is supposedly fried rice but the version here is wet.

Also ordered some skewers to try....

For my birthday cake we had this super cute "bonsai" cake!

Overall the food was alright but customer service was good and I liked the vibes of the place. Wouldn't mind coming here again!
