My boyfriend loves diving and the ocean world, so naturally he was very excited when RWS recently announced the opening of the Marine Life Park, which consists of the S.E.A Aquarium and Adventure Cove Waterpark. He bought tickets for us to visit the aquarium for our advanced X'mas date on 23rd last month. We left out the waterpark since I can't swim, much less dare to ride on the water slide.
We went on a Sunday, so the crowd at Sentosa was horrendous. The queue for S.E.A Aquarium was EXTREMELY long and we waited for quite awhile before we could enter.
While we were in the queue, BF got doubtful about the label "world largest aquarium", since Singapore is such a tiny country! (I just went to google about the specifications and it is indeed the largest if the information online is accurate.)
We finally got in the entrance and totally skipped the Maritime Experiential Museum because we went there before already. After going further in, realize there's another queue for the S.E.A Aquarium!
We finally entered for real and the first viewing panel of a shipwreck already interest me so much! There were a couple of divers inside and the fishes swam in groups, which was a pleasant sight.
Sorry I don't have a better photo. Wasn't easy to capture the magnificent view under low lighting!
Here are some random photos I took of the aquariums inside. I didn't bother to take photos of everything because there were just too many!
Most of my photos were blur because the fishes swam so fast. The clearest photos were probably of these non-moving ones that stuck themselves on the viewing panel. Like these starfishes below.... (I think they are starfishes.... are they? Haha. )
This shell looks so evil! (this one was also stuck on the viewing panel. lol.) Saw a lot of creatures that stuck themselves on to the viewing panel!

Jelly fishes were a beautiful sight! Besides these typical looking ones, there were also some other pretty ones in other forms and shapes.
I learnt plenty of trivial knowledge, like how some species look extremely different as a 'child' and as an 'adult'. Like totally different type of fish!
The deep-water fishes also intrigued my curiosity. It felt so weird knowing that right at the darkest and deepest of the ocean, lives such fishes unlike the 'normal' ones nearer to the surface. They look so evil, more like monsters than fishes! It totally makes me believe that somewhere far away, aliens exist. Check out the funny names like "Cock-eye" and "Dumbo" haha.
Didn't want to touch the starfishes because I was afraid but bf kept persuading me... Alright, lets do it for a photo! I wonder how the starfishes feel about being touched by so many people all day long. Haha.
Then we arrived at the sharks enclosure but it wasn't very scary because they all looked peaceful and not very big. Would be cool but scary at the same time if they had the huge ones inside. Haha. Anyway, have you ever seen a hammerhead shark in real life before? It looks so ridiculous!! Plenty of them inside the enclosure.

There was a Gelato shop outside the aquarium and bf asked me if I wanted one. Hehe. Yums!
After that we walked along the Sentosa Boardwalk to Vivocity for our Xmas dinner. Will blog about it in the next entry! ^_^
