Charly T Set Lunch Special

I frequently walk the stretch of path between The Cathay and Plaza Singapura but I have never really properly noticed the restaurants along the lane! A couple of weeks back, I was invited to try the set lunch specials at Charly T and realize that they are located just there!

Besides the dishes for set lunch, we also had a chance to try some of the items off their A La Carte Menu. First, let me share my favourites!

Original Rotisserie Chicken (Half chicken with 2 additions at $24+) and Garlic Rotisserie Chicken *seasonal flavour (Half chicken with 2 additions at $26+). The meat was tender and flavour was just nice. I am totally craving for Rotisserie Chicken now!

These are the sides that came with it.
- Steamed Fresh Vegetables
- Butter Garlic Rice
- German Potato Salad
- Macaroni and Cheese (uses a recipe from award-winning Chef Rozanne Gold's "Eat Fresh Food" cookbook which contains less cheese and includes fresh cauliflower)

Out of all the sides, I loved the Butter Garlic Rice and German Potato.

Another good chicken dish was the Jumbo Schnitzel Burger ($18+). It is really jumbo-sized but it was one of the best burgers I have eaten ever. The meat was tender (and big), and came with bacon, and other complementary ingredients.

We had drinks from CT's Odysseys series. (Red Tang, Green Flash & Cool Aid at $7+). Cool names ya? They are basically mixture of different fruits flavour.

My Red Tang was good to go with the meal!

On to the set lunches, each set comes with a soft drink each. You know what's awesome about the set lunch special? The super affordable prices!

- Sloppy Joe ($7.50+)
- CT's Beef Burger ($8.50+)
- Rice Surprise ($9.50+)

I didn't have the beef dishes but the Rice Surprise would definitely make a good lunch. The curry was very yummy!

We were all very full by now but I am glad we tried the desserts!

I really like the Kaiserchmarrn ($16+) with Vanilla Ice-cream ($4+)! I can't pronounce that but this pancake dish is really good as a dessert.

Bacon and Cheese Filled Waffles ($8+) with Vanilla Ice-cream ($4+). A very unique savoury dessert. The others liked it!
