Taiwan - Changhua

We had a short stay in Changhua during our holiday in Taiwan.

One thing I love about travelling to other countries is the part where I get to try experiencing what life is like for someone living his or her life in another part of the world, completely different from mine. It's quite an intriguing thought.

At Changhua, we visited Lukang Heritage Town, which retained a lot of culture and nostalgic feel, just like the other old streets in Taiwan. To be honest, I was quite bored of the "old streets" by then because we already spent quite alot of time on these cultural spots during the days before and I kinda miss the big cities. Looks like I am a city girl at heart! Haha.

Since I wasn't really being observant or paying attention, I don't have much to elaborate. Here're some photos I took!

Saw quite a number of stalls selling this snack. Not sure what it is! At first glance it looks like raw minced meat patties to me. Haha.

Afterwards, we also visited the Lukang Tianhou Temple which is walking distance from Lukang Heritage Town.

While in Taiwan, I learnt a new thing I never knew! How do you usually enter temples? The left? The right? The middle? Or random?

Apparently, the middle is a no-no. And we are supposed to enter from the door with Dragon carvings, and exit through the door with Tiger carvings. Have you heard of the phrase, "送羊入虎口"? Who wants to be the 羊?? Haha.

So anyway, while at the Tian Hou temple, we walked in from the wrong side because we were confused by left or right!  We were told we should enter through the left door and leave by the right door (in reference to 左青龙右白虎), but actually is left door from the inside facing out, and not from the outside facing in! After that we also realized the dragon and tiger carvings which we didn't notice earlier. Aiya... -_- Next time don't think left or right, just look out for the dragon and tiger!

Finally it was time to return to our hotel!

Changhua Grand View Hotel
No. 395, Section 2, Zhongshan Rd, Yuanlin City, Changhua County, Taiwan 51049

The surroundings of the hotel is quiet and peaceful, with a Starbucks just across the street!

Was quite impressed with the hotel! It was better than I thought. Most importantly, I was just feeling grateful for a proper and nice hotel to stay in for the night, after the "insect-ful" farmstay at Yilan the night before. Haha.

Had a comfy night stay at Changhua Grand View Hotel! Anyway, I really love watching TV in Taiwan! So many interesting variety shows throughout, to the point that I was looking forward to returning to the hotel to watching TV every night. Haha.

Dinner that night in the hotel!

With sis~

After dinner, we went out of the hotel for a walk!

In the end we only visited a furniture superstore and went back already. So anti-climax. Haha.

Spotted these cute Line character stools!

The next morning, we went down to the hotel's restaurant for our buffet breakfast!

I noticed that hotel breakfast served in Taiwan are mostly porridge stuff!

Trick to hiding morning bloatness in photos: Ask the photographer to hold the camera far far far away! Haha.

Okay that's all for Changhua! Read my other Taiwan blog entries!
