Nara Thai & Newby Tea

Top c/o Earthdoll (retail store at Bukit Panjang Plaza #03-21).

Another high tea session with the girls! I visited Nara Thai while in Bangkok and didn't know there's Nara Thai in Singapore too! These are the dishes from the new Cassia High Tea Set which we were invited to try. Instead of the typical high tea food like pastries, we have Thai canapes and snacks! Slightly different from usual high teas, but also served in a three-tier set in portion for two.

The set includes traditional thai dishes, and out of all, my favourites are the Tord Mun Pla (Thai Fishcakes) and Kung Tord (Shrimp Fritter Canapes). Of course, the coconut desserts are yummy too!

We also had an ala-carte dish, which is the signature dish at Nara Thai - Phunim Phad Pong Karee (Stir-fried Softshell Crab with Yellow Curry). Sinful indeed, but worth the calories!

The set also comes with a freshly brewed pot of Newby Tea. I like that in addition to detailed descriptions, we also get to smell the tea leaves on the menu before choosing. I am not adventurous with tea, so it's good that I get to understand the choices and select something safe.

I shared a pot of Jasmine Princess with Nadia and also ordered Strawberry & Mango, which came very prettily in red!

At just $29.90 per set and a chic setting, I think this high tea set is quite worth it! It is available daily between 3-5pm, from 13 April to 19 July 2015 at Ion Orchard #B3-21.
