The Missing Pan

Had dinner with Nadia and Carrie awhile back at The Missing Pan! I have seen photos of their brunch food on instagram but never got the chance to visit before this.

The Missing Pan is an all-day bakery and brasserie opened in November 2013, serving food that is good to eat, share and enjoy. At level one, there are freshly-baked, organic artisanal breads for dine-in or takeaway, and modern cuisine on the upper floor!

Ordered this milkshake together with Nadia - Peanut Butter & Banana Milkshake. Sounds like something bf would definitely order if we went there together. Both flavours are distinct in the drink, yet not too sweet. Not bad!

We were seated near the open-concept kitchen and the fragrance of the food being cooked was irresistible. Chorizo Fiesta ($10++) was a good start to the meal. It's a must-order in my opinion!

We also had the Chargrilled Squid ($12++), which is marinated in their special secret seasoning, and is slightly spicy.

Mushroom Quesadillas ($18++) received thumbs up from all of us. I liked how the crepe was crispy, yet easy to bite into. The contents - wild mushrooms, capsicum, spanish onions, mozzarella, are also very delicious! This is easily one of my fave dish that night.

Smoked Duck Risotto ($25++) - Smoked duck breast, semi sun-dried tomato, hojimeishi mushroom, baby spinach. Yummy!

We had another one - Crab Truffle Cream Risotto ($28++), which had Blue swimmer crab, semi sun-dried tomato, baby spinach, truffle oil. Slightly heavier, but also delicious. I recommend to order the risotto as a side to share with friends as the creaminess might be too much for a single person, but just nice as a sharing dish!

German Baby Back Ribs ($36++) - Flame grilled, glazed with signature bbq sauce, fries, mesclun salad.We were filled to the brim by then and I told them I was only going to taste a little but I ended up finishing my portion of ribs because it's so good. I generally don't really like BBQ sauce, so I would opt for no sauce next time! By the way, although I prefer skinny fries, these fat ones at The Missing Pan are really delicious!

We were so full that we needed more drinks to keep the food down. I ordered Lychee and Lemon ($6++), while Carrie ordered some cucumber drink which had a refreshing aftertaste.

Nadia had pear cider!

It was time for desserts and we had four of them, prettily plated!

Bread & Butter Pudding with Vanilla Crème ($8++)
Frozen Honey Nougat ($12++) - Pistachio nuts, dried apricots, meringue sticks
Pleasure ($8.50/slice) - Milk chocolate, dark chocolate cream, hazelnut & feuilletine
Caramel Chocolate ($7.50++)

My favourite is this layered one! One thing about the desserts here is that they are not overwhelming sweet. The subtle flavours were very addictive. My fork automatically kept going back for more bites even though I was already very full.

It was a lovely evening shared with these girls. Thank you Foodnews and The Missing Pan for inviting!
