Melbourne - Luna Park

One of the highlights for this trip was Luna Park!

It is an old-fashioned amusement park and the one in Melbourne was in operation since 1912! Unlike the modern theme parks we are used to, this one had a very interesting nostalgic feel to it, somehow like those small-scale fun fairs which I used to go to as a kid!

The weather wasn't too cold that day so we went in shorts!

The iconic entrance to Luna Park.

Entry is AUD2, awesome if you are just bringing your kids along and not intending to ride. Single-ride tickets are also available at AUD10.95. Unlimited-ride tickets are at AUD49.95. So if you have at least 5 rides to go on, get the unlimited pass.

There are quite a number of kid-friendly rides and the queues aren't too bad.

The ferris wheel looked tame but actually is quite scary leh! The carriages aren't covered and it swings with the wind.

We also took this slow kiddy car ride to make the ticket worth.

Some of the scary ones which I didn't dare to try.

Wah this one, a ride called "The Enterprise". Looks super mild but actually super horrible for me! There are no seat belts in each gondola and the staff happily told me it's physics that holds us in place but excuse me, I wasn't able to stay in my seat at all when the ride started spinning! I kept sliding off my seat and there was no railing to hold too, except the cage grills, which was not at the correct angle for me to hold. As each cabin is quite big, I was almost lying flat instead of sitting down. Did not enjoy the ride at all, but my sister didn't have the same problem. How come physics didn't work on me??

There were also some carnival games, which are my favourite! We managed to win a little prize each with this easy balloon game.

So cute this one! Too bad didn't win it.

Afterwards we went to the nearby St Kilda beach!

Along the way, we found this stretch of shops and eateries. I really liked this place!

We went in here for some burgers.

Looks appetizing ya... But taste mediocre only.

On to the beach! Nothing majestic, but still nice!

Chinese food for dinner

That somes up our time in St Kilda! Nice area to drop by if you are staying in Melbourne.

Will try to finish up on one last post for Melbourne after this and finally move on to other travel logs!
