After two awful years, I did not dare to look at my zodiac horoscope during this lunar new year. It would have been depressing to know that this year was going to be bad as well. I think I would rather not know. At least it keeps the hope alive. I prefer to read horoscope that encourages, say the good things, and give advices to block the bad, rather than those that directly say what bad things will happen to you this year.

For example... I'd rather hear "You need to control your temper this year and spend less on unnecessary things" than "You will quarrel with alot of people this year and will go bankrupt because you keep buying new shoes". Right?

Fret not if you did not manage to get new clothes for CNY visiting tomorrow. It's too late to head to the shops now, but you can recreate new looks from your current wardrobe!

The White Rabbit

I've always wanted to dine at The White Rabbit since a few years ago but never had the chance to. The restaurant is converted from an old chapel, and there is this countryside, whimsical feel to it. Me and my boyfriend are not exactly rich, so dining here even for special occasions were out of the question. Attended an event there once, but it's not the same as really dining there.

Last year in November, I finally had a chance to really dine there! It was a work meeting with our partners from Korea. (Anyway, after multiple encounters of working with Koreans, I realized that the females have really good skin! I wonder if it's the weather there.)

As it was a work thing, I did not bring out my usual camera. The lousy shots below were sneakily taken with my mobile phone when the boss was not looking!

I prefer the ambiance in day time though. Towards night time although romantic, it was a little too dark. I love the white country feel!

I had seabass for my main course. It's very yummy!

Could not take pictures of the other food, but I managed to get a picture of the staff cooking our dessert in front of us.

It's an orange thingy. Surprisingly taste good!

Would love to dine here again.

GOSH!!!!!

My sister was doing spring cleaning around her table and she found 2 astonishing things.

1. A 'Storybook' I wrote when I was Primary 6. Book with illustrations at the front page, a summary page at the back, got a "this is for blah blah blah ....." page and has 8 chapters. Plus... with a "fan club" subscription page!! Anyone interested? I think I will scan and put it up here. Haha.

2. Hand-written diary of when I was 15. Most of it is about me and my crush and the journey of me confessing to him and all that. PLUS GOT EXACT TIMING ONE.

Also, you know what, I was so shock to read that I had confessed to him. All the while up till now, in my memory I thought that I never told him before and that he did not know anything leh. WTF!!! I even have his rejection sentence written in the diary!!

And then I also have a picture of him slotted inside one of the page. Haha! Plus another male classmate (I have no idea why this classmate's picture also inside omg)...

&&& You know last time FM93.3 got the "xian ge ji yi", where the DJ will read love stories and then dedicate songs? I wrote a story for me and that crush. But I didn't submit it. Now when I read it, I laugh like mad! Plus it's even written in Chinese!!! LOL.

I had a few guys chasing me at that time, so I also had a flow chart listing the "pros" and "cons" of dating each one. The points are damn funny lah! Like under bad section got "can't talk on phone", "younger than me", etc. And another one is "ahbeng type" Hahahah... and wanna hear the epic part? The "ahbeng type" point is listed under GOOD.

Really have to thank my sister for stealing my diary those days. The words and feelings inside are as raw as can be, something that this blog can never ever be.

My house had a blackout again today... during night time. It was dark and scary! Lucky I wasn't alone at home. Lucky I wasn't like using computer halfway or something. Lucky my sister was using laptop running on batteries so we had a little bit of light. We then realise that we did not know where the torchlight is kept! Lucky her handphone has the "torchlight" function. We went to open the main door and realised that our neighbour also blackout and for a moment I thought that the whole block kena blackout too. But other families had their lights on so I think only we two kena the blackout!

So anyway, that's totally not the point of today's entry.

Fat is not curvy

Just saw this entry that I drafted back in August 2011 but never published... I wonder why I didn't.

Why are skinny celebrities always labeled as "anorexic", unattractive, image-conscious? Some people are just skinny because of the genes what. Doesn't mean every girl who is thin is hating on her body.

Why are obese celebrities being applauded for being proud of their body?
There's nothing to be proud of being super-overweight. It's very unhealthy and you are not loving your body if you decide to do nothing about your unhealthy diet.

Why are obese celebrities being labeled as "real woman" & why do people keep repeating the quote "curvy looks much better than being skinny".

Yes I agree that having meat looks better than bones but FAT does not equate to CURVY.

I have nothing against people who are overweight. It's a personal choice and I also understand that sometimes no matter how little you eat or how much you exercise, you just can't shed it off. I understand all that because I've never shed any weight due to exercise or not eating before. In fact, the less I eat, the fatter I become. (Before you start envying, let me say that when I eat too much I also become fat so the only way to do it is to eat balanced meals.) I also understand that some people are overweight not by choice.

I'm just so sick of obviously super fat celebrities saying things that encourage being unhealthy, and yet being praised for "embracing her body". It's not healthy being overweight, so stop saying things like that to convince everyone (and yourself) that it's alright to be severely overweight and unhealthy because "being fat is a being a real woman". Skinny/average weight women not real woman meh? And skinny celebrities, on the other hand, are said of be of bad example? It's just so silly that both sides of the scales are equally super unhealthy yet the treatment is so different. I read this paragraph somewhere... 'Firstly, it is part of this strange turn in what we call "body acceptance", but it is really just thin bashing instead of fat bashing. It's propaganda bullshit. Suddenly fat girls are "natural beauties" and thin girls are lambasted on magazine covers as "scary skinny"'

Stop encouraging the wrong thing. People should love their bodies but please stop being self-denial and saying things like you look good if you are really the shape of a watermelon. You need to differentiate the word "Fat" and the word "Curvy". Round is Fat. Round is NOT curvy please.

In recent years, there is an influx of campaigns organized to spread the message about loving your body no matter what shape it is. The objective of the campaigns are obviously to reduce self-criticism that usually end up making young ladies anorexic, which is unhealthy and may sometimes lead to a malnourished body or death. This is due to media influence, which often presents an unrealistic expectation of slimness. This has become a highlighted social issue that the same magazines that airbrushed their cover models to perfection and often featuring editorials on celebrity diet tips, are countering this effect by organizing such body-loving campaigns. Irony, but that’s for another article. What I would really like to ask, are these campaigns bringing the correct message across?

It does seem like the public is mistaken. Severely overweight people are using it as an excuse instead of exercising to a healthy weight. These campaigns often interview overweight or larger stars who are proud of their body. Tyra and Beyoncé are popular singers large in size but with proportionate and firm figures. They might not be size 0 like the usual Hollywood celebrities but their bodies are still beautiful and healthy. These are curvy women, not fat. They are probably large-boned/fuller figure, thus, suitable celebrity figures to interview for such campaigns because there are indeed many healthy girls out there who are naturally not petite size no matter how little they eat and many people call them Fat just because they are bigger size than the usual tiny fragile girls that ahbengs love.

However, some magazines love to go to some 'obviously unhealthily overweight' celebrities for quotes and they might have been the people responsible for misleading the general public. Some of these celebrities are clearly obese, but continue to advocate that being fat is okay. As popular celebrities, I felt that this was being irresponsible to the wellbeing of their fans.

I am not the only one who shares these views. I stumbled into a fashion forum that was also discussing about these issues. Apparently, these campaigns have helped anorexic girls to love their body better, but it does also have a wrong effect on those unhealthily overweight. I think that these campaigns should evaluate their methods and make sure these young ladies do not blur the lines between “not hating your body” and “doing nothing about an unhealthy size and lifestyle under the excuse that being curvy is more attractive than being skinny.”

Also, another thing. Personally I think that being a little over the average weight IS NOT BEING FAT. Some girls have really normal body but keep saying fat fat fat -.- For example, although I am not skinny and I do have some fats on my arms, thighs and face, I wouldn't call myself fat because I think I'm actually quite average size and quite happy with it. Being slightly chubbier is not perfect but it is also NOT FAT. You might be stumpy or have elephant legs or a big butt or a little tummy or flabby arms, but that is NOT FAT. It's not model-perfect, but you do not have to be that to be beautiful. You are the people who should be encouraged to love your body!

*Disclaimer: Before you misunderstand my message, I'm talking about obese people who deliberately stay fat/are lazy to have healthier diets AND still use those excuses. If you are overweight and aware of it and happy with it and not intending to do anything about it BUT not being self-denial and not using those excuses, then I have nothing to say. Actually, I'd like you if you honestly say "Yes I know I'm fat but I can't be bothered" than if you had said "I'm staying fat because a watermelon looks better than a bamboo and I'm loving my body". *rolls eyes* STOP THE SELF-DENIAL CAN. Nobody asked you to be a bamboo -.- Besides watermelon and bamboo, there is also Papaya in between okay.

I love this outfit! Perfect for a brunch date with my girls ^^ The cotton material makes it look more casual although it is a long dress, and I did not have to worry about it being sheer or not because the material is thick enough. It can definitely withstand plenty of wearing and washing. You can also wear awesome shoes because the end stops right above the ankle for you to show off!

I love having Brunch... I love eggs. I love bacon and cheese.

It was Fidelis' turn to bring us to Mystery Makan last weekend and I'm so happy it's Epicurious! I've been here before once and loved the food but did not blog about it. The waiting time is already long enough as it is!

Epicurious is located around Clarke Quay area, so I think that it is a great alternative for Hatched, which is in Bukit Timah... Too far for me to travel from Pasir Ris!

Paradise Indeed

Today, I'm going to blog about the yummiest meal I had recently. Until now still nian nian bu wang!

Went to I12 Katong with Bf during one of our off day to explore the new mall. Decided to have dinner at Canton Paradise.

Me and Bf love soup alot. I like to pair my rice with meat dish + 1 hot soup ^^ But too bad whenever I eat like this outside, always cost $8 or more even if I eat at food court. Because soup is usually $4.50, rice is $3.50... Other people eat $3.50 lunch I eat double price! :(

Their soup is thick and very yummy. We only order 1 person portion this time. Will order the pot for 3-4 pax next time!

We had the BBQ combination platter - Steam Kampong chicken and Honey Pork. The chicken very nice lah, I don't know how to describe the taste. The pork is like Char Siew, but with fats inside!!!! However the portion is really very little. I can eat the whole plate myself lor, but too bad need share with BF :(:(:( *greedy girl*

AND THIS IS THE STAR DISH.
We had steamed seabass topped with garlic and chilli padi. The name of this dish is "la la di", means "Spicy spicy one".... Haha. Actually the names all very funny. The honey pork above is called "Fei Po Blah blah blah", which mean "Fatty Honey pork blah blah"...

Although really very spicy, but it's very very very nice and special. The sauce makes the fish meat soft and juicy. Usually BF only eat abit of every fish dish we order and usually I get to eat most of the fish but this time it was so nice that he ate HALF!!!!!!! So I left HALF ONLY :(:(:(

I've been craving for this fish alot recently. Everytime he ask me if he can do this do that, my answer will be "bring me go Canton Paradise eat first"... Hahaha. Then when he want to spend money on some stuff, I will say "No cannot. Use the money treat me eat Canton Paradise." Lol.

My first time eating Custard Egg Tang Yuan with Cereal! Not bad!

Lizard or cockroach?

Today.... I'm going to blog about my encounter with Insects recently.

Before you read the following, let me say that I hate insects. I'm afraid of every single kind of insect but the thing is, I am also too scared to squash or kill them.... even ants... It just feels disgusting and usually I would let them escape to somewhere else that is not within my sight. For me, it is "As long as you don't disturb me, I'm fine about you."

But when I have someone nearby, I'd grab that someone and say "Kill them for me! Kill them!! Don't let them run away!!" Does that make me the mastermind behind the murder? Oops.

That day, I was about to take a shower so I switched on the water and immediately I saw several ants trying to escape from the water. So I quickly switched off the water so that they can move away before I flood the bathroom. Then I waited and waited, then realize that the puddles of water have surrounded the dry land that they were in. The ants were unable to swim out. Bobian lor.... Sorry ah ants, I TRIED. I REALLY TRIED T_T

My office have mini cockroaches all the time. A few months back, got one time my colleague not around and there was a cockroach on my plastic bag so I was so scared that I went out of the office to ask two strangers to help me with the cockroach. Omg, embarrassing. I hesitate for very long before I had the courage to ask!

Then that day, I tweeted that a few baby cockroaches are circling around my keyboard, very irritating but I don't dare kill it myself. I dreaded to think about how disgusting it would be when they grow up. Then a couple of days later, the cockroaches disappeared!! But I saw a LIZARD CRAWL BEHIND THE TELEPHONE. Ewwwww! After a few more days, I realize that it must be the lizard who ate all the baby cockroaches!! THE LIZARD SAVED ME!!! I'd choose one lizard (as long as it doesn't touch me and stay out of sight please) over a dozen cockroaches!!

Okay lets not talk about insects anymore. I wish I have a protective cover to make all insects stay away from me at least 100 metres away!!!

Not me of course, but my good friend Nadia! Four of us had planned to have dinner together actually, but on the day itself, David contacted Jacelyn and told her that he plans to give Nadia a surprise proposal. Jacelyn immediately looped me and Fidelis about what was going to happen. We were all so excited for her!!

Okay okay, on to the food, which nobody really cared about after the proposal... Lol. This Japanese restaurant is located at Ion. I think that the food is good, although a bit on the pricey side if you order a lot.

We were laughing about how the staff misspell Fidelis' name from Ms Toh to Ms Ton. And we all didn't realise that there was a "5", which could have gave away the game but lucky Nadia quite blur that day!!

Wanted to blog today but I got kinda lazy and 25 minutes more to bed time so I think I will just anyhow write something here.

I went to buy CNY goodies with SX at Chinatown yesterday. Still got so long to Chinese New Year but it is so crowded already!! SX suddenly wanted to squeeze in a movie into our already-very-tight schedule, so we rushed like ah-siao. Did not manage to finish buying the stuff that I wanted to buy though. Our hands were already full and heavy so we went back to his house to give his mother some items. And then I carried his sister's baby for awhile and then we rushed to my house to give my mother the CNY gifts, and then we rushed to Downtown East for a late screening of "The Darkest Hour". We had initially wanted to watch the 10.15pm one but we were super late so ended up watching the 11.15PM one. Although the internet ratings for this movie is damn lousy, both of us liked the movie! It is exciting and interesting to watch... I love such "end-of-the-world-disaster-and-only-a-group-survived" genre. Haha.

Mnet Music Asian Awards 2011

This is a super late entry! Haha. Had tickets to attend Mnet Asian Music Awards 2011 due to work and it was a great show! I'm sure most of you had watched the live telecast on TV already. Super Junior's Sorry Sorry was epic due to the many backup singers that suddenly appeared midway into the song. Very happy because my top favorite girl K-pop groups are all there (except Brown Eyed Girls)... SNSD, 2NE1 and Miss A... I really enjoyed their fantastic performances! Hyuna was also there. Too bad she didn't sing Bubble Pop. Really like that song of hers.

My Xmas Countdown

For X'mas countdown, we celebrated at a bungalow chalet with my relatives :)

BBQ! That's the best thing I love about going to chalets ^^ The prawn and spicy sotong very yummy!

Lots of glow sticks for the children to play with.

And also these 'crackers'! Twist it, then there will be a pop sound and then some paper and a toy will burst out!

I joined in the fun with the children and mine is a mini comb! Hehe. So suitable for me ^^ The rest got plastic turtles, dinosaurs, etc.

It was entertaining watching the kids bbq food. Twice, I refused to accept the hotdog they bbq, because it still look raw. I said "没有chao-tar我不要吃" (I wont eat it until it got at least some chaotar). Then a few minutes after she put the hotdog back, the fire suddenly became super big and my hotdog was finally chaotar-ed. Lol.

They were also super cute lah! The two boys were fanning the bbq, then suddenly both of them fanned their own faces, together!! Haha. Then one of the boys said that he was very hot, so the girl went inside the house to pull an electric fan out. The wire extended only till the sliding door, which was a few metres away from the bbq pit. In mandarin, I mentioned, like that can feel the wind meh. The girl answered "不要紧啦，他看到风扇就开心了" (nevermind lah, he can see the fan he happy already). I laughed like mad because of the way she said it. Then when the boys fanned the bbq pit too vigorously and too close to the girl's face, the girl retorted "eh我的脸还要的leh! " (eh! my face still want de leh!)... Hahaha.

Went upstairs and played with their toys. The alphabets were scattered around the bed, so I chose a few tiles for myself. I took A, T, E, L, N, S, N and R randomly because they are good alphabets that can be used for a lot of words. End up I finished all the tiles on my rack on the first spell! - Lanterns. Haha.

The wooden swing in the garden was fun ^^ But scary if nobody is around haha.

I was so tired that 4 minutes before the clock struck midnight for X'mas, I gave up and went to the room to lie down. My sis followed. So, she ended up being the first person who wished me Merry Christmas~

Nuffnang Trip, Final part!

After breakfast we went to the garden at the back of the hotel. And after so many days of unstable wifi at the lobby, we realise that the wifi was super strong at this side of the hotel.... Should have went there earlier!

With Juvone, my secondary school friend who is working at Ripplewerkz. We used to be like best friends, even calling ourselves "Ai & Vone" lol!

On the way back home, the coach stopped at a shop in Yong Peng for us to buy some local products.

And we had tea egg and cup corn!!! Yums!

That's the end of the Nuffnang trip! I'm so looking for the next Napbas 2 years later!!!!!

Year of letdowns

Tomorrow is a new year, 2012!

I'm kinda sad that it is happening so fast because I want to start 2012 afresh but up till now, up till the last day of 2011, most of my issues have not been settled zzzzz.

I see many other bloggers writing up great 2011 round-up posts but I don't really have much to thank for year 2011 though. The recent couple of years had been quite sucky and I can't wait to get out of it.

So in 2012, my resolution is to find the courage to weed out everything that is making me unhappy. I've been waiting for things to change and perhaps it's time for me to go out there and grab it myself instead of waiting around for nothing.

I was a very selfish person in 2009 and the years before. And I SEEMED TO BE HAPPIER AND I HAD ALMOST EVERYTHING I WANTED.

Then I tried to be a better person in 2010 and 2011, and guess what, everything went downhill. I really don't know leh. Shouldn't goodness be rewarded with goodness? Why is it when I'm bad, I get lucky and when I'm good, things go bad? But, I think I will still try to build up more good karma lah, because up till now, I feel super guilty for the selfish things I did back then.

Things I wish for in 2012:

1. HEALTH & SAFETY- It's the most important!!! All the stuff below won't matter if you don't have the health to enjoy it! I wish that I don't fall sick so easily anymore. And I wish everyone I love around me to be healthy and safe too ^^

2. WEALTH - I used to think that it doesn't matter, but after this shitty year when I was broke every single month, I think that money is very very very important. With money, a lot of unnecessary problems could be easily solved. So yep, number 2 on my list is Wealth. More advertorials please. Haha.

3. LOVE - I hope that it goes well. I hope that my partner will have the same values in love as I do. I believe in giving all and going all out for love. I believe in love overcoming all. I want love to be at the top of his list, just like how it is on mine. I believe in sweetness going beyond the honeymoon stage. I want to be cared for, I want to be doted on, just like how I'd do sweet things for him too. I believe in cultivating trust, stability, RESPECT and the willingness to do anything for the relationship. I believe in considering for your partner for every decision you make in life. I believe in sharing two lives as one.

4. CAREER - I hope my blogging career will go up once again and I hope to have more opportunities. I hope to travel and explore the outside world more. I hope my real job will also be one that I feel happy in, one that I wake up looking forward to every morning. Better still, I hope that I can blog full time.

5. BEAUTY - I want to become prettier! I want to do invisalign, I want my nose to become smaller, I want my skin to stay fair and become more radiant, moisturized and clear. And I hope I lose my flabby fats. And I hope my face become less chubby and less fat! And I hope I stop losing hair!!!!!

6. FRIENDSHIPS - I hope that I do not quarrel with any friends this year because it's very bitter and it affects me a lot. I hope all misunderstandings can be cleared easily, I hope I meet no backstabbers. I hope to maintain the friends that I have now :) I hope that I can re-meet those friends I love but drifted apart from.

If I did not miss anything, all these will add up to, HAPPINESS.

Oh, and one of the things I really miss is my previous hair color. WHY DID I GO AND DYE RED AH????? Wayne, my hairstylist at Bugis Essensuals did a lot of work to get my hair up to this perfect color and I went to ruin it by changing to Red. WHAT WAS I THINKINGGGGG. I do like red hair but whenever I look at my old pictures, I strongly miss that old shade~~

Nuffnang KL Trip Day 2, Part 1!

By the time we got back to the hotel the previous night, we only have a few hours to sleep before we had to wake up to have breakfast at 8.30AM, according to the itinerary. I didn't sleep well although the bed was super comfy, but I managed to prepare and rush down to breakfast with Benjamin and Randy at 9am! Not too late lah hor? Haha. 30 minutes left to savor the hotel's buffet breakfast!!!!

Heard that the premise will be open for public next year though...

步步惊心

So happy that 步步惊心 is going to be showing on Channel 8 prime time soon! I managed to follow the show when my mum was watching it and I think the show is good! It was a hit in China and I think people here will love it too. It's quite slow-paced, unlike the usual fast paced Hong Kong drama that I prefer (for example, Curse of the Royal Harem), but I think that the slow pacing was suitable and essential in transmitting the right feel for this story.

The story plot is about a 21st century lady who accidentally time travels back to the Qing Dynasty. With the knowledge of text book history she acquired back in her actual timezone and through attempts to modify history to avoid tragedies, she ends up being the instigator for most of the significant historical stories.

Love the OST too...

Think I watch too much palace shows already. I'm addicted!!!

Anyway, I watched the movie 'Hong Kong Ghost Stories (猛鬼故事)' around a month back. This movie have a lot of detractors due to the lousy props, fakeness, etc. But I think the storyline is good! There are two parts to the movie and both stories had a twist in the end. Me likey! I love storylines that are not straightforward ^^ Go watch it when it's out on dvd ok! Don't expect 'horror' though~~

Napbas Trip - Day 1

Nuffnang KL Trip Day 1

I was sick for the entire week before the short trip to Malaysia for the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards. So afraid that I could not recover in time!

My mum came along with me on this trip :) Meeting time was early in the morning so most of the bloggers didn't have make up on. I was hardworking! I forced the contact lens into my tired strained eyes. Lol.

Two coaches from Singapore embarked on the journey to Malaysia. Exciting!!

X'mas at Orchard

Our family decided to head to Orchard yesterday to get some Christmas atmosphere. Was fun! Haha.

First, we went to Daiso at Ion and Mum suggested for us to go in individually and pick a gift for each other as Christmas presents. We spent lots of time in there trying to find something that we think each of them would like. Because there were SO MANY items available, it was very difficult to find the best present. For example, I found so many things that I think my sister would love and I could not decide on one! I was also very afraid to bump into them at the store. I was looking and holding a belt and my Dad spotted me -_-"

So in the end, these were what we got for each other! It was very interesting to know what they all think I would like haha.

1. Water bottle. Mum got this for dad. I was torn between this and number 5 for Dad. Spot Mum and saw that she was planning to give dad the wealth-cat ornament -.- End up she decided to give him the bottle instead because the ornament is really useless. Haha.

2. Towel. Dad got this for Mum. He say it's for her to wipe table. Hahaha.

3. Mini tripod. Dad got this for me! Guess it'd be useful if I do vlogs in the future. Or when I want to camwhore without holding up the camera.

4. SD card reader. Dad got this for my sister! Think it'll be quite useful for her because she can use it for her school projects.

5. Belt I got for my dad. Useful for him!

6. Nice pink jewel bag hanger I got for mum. Meaningful because she is a bag-lover but she say no use one! :(

7. Orange juice squeezer from Mum for me... Lol.

8. Rose pocket mirror for my sis! I think pretty but she prefers number 11!

9. Shoe polisher for my dad, from my sis.... Dad has all the useful gifts!

10. Earrings for mum, from my sis. I suggested this for her, and mum loves it!

11. Pocket mirror for me from my sis... Haha. Funny that we gave each other the same stuff, just different designs.

12. Some headband thingy for my sis, from my mum. Mum said she wanted to give me this at first.... For what?!!!! Lucky she gave it to my sis in the end hahaha.

After the gift-hunt, we walked past Rubi and saw shoes on sale! Bought them at super low prices. Took pictures of them... Here's what we bought, in different sizes! Haha.

Being Cryptic

I've been thinking back about the things that have happened for the past 2 years.

I used to be really personal and open on my blog. But I realise that I have not been completely honest about my current relationship here. I don't know. Perhaps because I know the consequences. Because I know my relatives and parents are monitoring this blog. I don't really care about what you strangers think about the choices I've made, but I do feel affected when people I know disagree with my choice of route. I think I have some sort of responsibility to hold here. That's why most of the time when I want to share a bit of my feelings on my blog or twitter, I'd try as much as I can to say it cryptically. Might as well don't say anything at all - you are thinking. But to me, it's an avenue for me to release my pent up feelings. I don't like burdening my friends with my issues, so usually I'd hesitate before sharing. There's really very limited people in my life who really knows much about what is happening... I think even this group of people don't know the full story because I only share bits and parts to each person. They'd have to join up together to piece the full story haha but they are from different clique, so I guess it won't happen.

Perhaps I'd share about it if the relationship ever has a definite end one day. It's so dramatic. For those who know me in real life, please ignore this entry and don't ask me about it if I have not shared it with you. I'm not ready yet.

** And it comes to a conclusion that what I will wish for this Christmas is Freedom. I realise that the lack of it is what affected alot of happenings in my life since I was in secondary school. If I had freedom, a lot of things wouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't have lost my friends and boyfriends in secondary school just because I couldn't hang out after school. After graduating and having this blog, I can now go out but I can't stay past midnight, overnight or go overseas. If not for that, I wouldn't have any insecure feelings about past boyfriends going clubbing because I could join in and that solves the problem. I would be able to go for late night spontaneous suppers and mix around fine with past boyfriends' friends. I would be able to join my girl friends for staycations. Travelling makes me happy and my ultimate goal is to be able to travel full-time one day. It's really a far-fetch dream to most people but I think I am close, just lack of an opportunity. If I'm not given this opportunity, I would have spent all my money on short trips every week or at least every month, but I can't because of my lack of freedom. Not just physical freedom, it is also the lack of freedom to be able to freely make any choice in my life. The consequences to every choice I make is heavy, and I have to answer for it. It's tying me down and really, all I want to do is fly freely. You see, most of the time I really don't care about what the whole world think. But behind every decision I make, I have to think of the loved-ones around me and that is why it's so hard for me to do things I want to do. Perhaps my dream is really too unrealistic and people are concerned... But I kinda envy people who could chase their dreams recklessly without a care. That's not gonna happen to me ever, because although I love freedom, I also can't live without what I currently have - Stability and Security.

Outfits for NAPBAS trip

Entries for NAPBAS (Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards) are rapidly popping up in all the other blogs and now I'm kinda pressured to quickly churn out an entry for it too. Usually I'd be one of the first few to blog about events, so it came as a surprise that everyone else is so fast, some even wrote the entry by the next day we came back to SG! Guess everyone had a good time there ^^ However, I really want to write a detailed entry about my 3D2N at Malaysia, so give me a little while more, I'd try to process the pictures by this weekend okay?

For now, let me blog about the outfits I wore throughout the trip!

Although it was just a 3D2N trip, we had more than one outfit per day because of the different activities taking place. I brought a total of 5 sets of outfit + 1 set of sleeping wear. Mum brought 6 sets (1 for spare) + her sleeping wear. In addition to toiletries, chargers and other travel necessities, our combined luggage was still smaller than most of the other luggages brought by SINGLE bloggers. I think we have awesome packing skills. Haha.

For the journey there, I wore this lovely top from http://mamatiam.com... It kept me comfy throughout the long coach ride. I was actually comtemplating to tuck it into my high waist shorts, but finally decided to hold it with a brown weave belt instead.

I did not have any solo picture for the Awards dinner, so here is one with Alexa! I love that piece of black outfit on her. She always look good in her clothes! Check out her fashion blog at PixieKrane.com

On me, I'm just wearing a very simple black long dress. Heck, cancel the word long, it's nothing compared to the other ladies with their ground sweeping gorgeous gowns!! I decided to come in an understated black dress because I guess it's quite appropriate since I'm not even one of the finalists. Totally regretted my choice because everyone else were so nicely dressed up!!!!! The only detail to this dress is that there is a slit at the middle front.

For the after-party at zouk, I wore this short black dress that I got from Bugis Street. I don't think I'd be wearing it again because it is so short! I don't have pictures but the back is criss-cross with abit of bareback. The pair of heels is from Giovanna at Century Square. I got it just 2 days before the trip because the pair that I originally intended to wear was spoilt due to being neglected in the shoe rack. This pair is only $15!!!!! Its a size smaller than what I usually wear, but it's quite comfy for afew hours due to the thick heel and platform. After that the strap thing kinda bit my baby toe.

Accessories! I got those black gelish nails done at my beloved nail sponsor Millys :)

The ring is from a shop at Bugis Street, near Wo Ai Tai Mei. I think it's the only shop there that sells pretty rings at 3 for $5. Most of the other shops sell these rings at $12-$15 per piece, which is kinda ridiculous, because no matter what the price is, the quality is about the same. Trying styles that are not my style

I like to try different looks. My favorite is the sweet girly look, but sometimes I like looking boho, rock or vintage too. One of the looks that I think is the most unsuitable for me is the mature style. I feel very uncomfortable in long knee length skirt and formal blouses.

However, on some occasions I will still try on something new.

#1 Fur cardigan with gold chain linings from Missqueenie. I paired it with Theblogshop tube lace dress and a weave brown belt

#2 This beige woven dress (theblogshop) looks very matured on me, so I paired with some girly accessories to make it less woody!

BATTLE BOX

I don't think I've ever been to Battle box. Recently I was given an assignment to write a travel feature of Battle Box, so I thought perhaps I should take extra pictures to blog too! I haven't written the travel piece yet.. It will be easier to blog first... so here we go~

Battle Box is located at Fort Canning Park and it is within walking distance from Dhoby Ghaut MRT. After walking halfway, me and my mum regretted not taking the cab from the mrt station. We sat down on a bench for a while, and then decided to walk up a huge flight of stairs and try to find the place again. There it was! Not very far actually.

Welcomed by soldier who instructed us to turn right!

At the briefing session, we were told to wear these headsets to listen to the guide. Besides the headset, there was also a real guide who led us through the different rooms and explained each room to us.

First, we were led to look at the telecommunications/ control room of the soldiers in old times, inside this dungeon.

Almost every room are just soldier statues pretending to do what they were supposed to do. Actually, it is abit boring unless you are really interested in history.

The soldier wax-figure in this corridor is not well maintained. Look at the face!

This room was replicated exactly according to a rare photograph. Amazing!

There is air-con in the underground tunnels now, but in the past during war times it was stuffy and hot inside. This is one of the 3 air ventilation equipment that was used at that time to filter the air inside.

One of the dead end. It was a secret escape for the soldiers via the ladder.

This was the meeting room where the British decided to surrender Singapore to the Japanese. The scene was re-enacted out in this room.

Several photos and articles about the war and the soldiers. Quite boring leh the whole tour, most of the things inside I read about it in history textbooks already. I guess I'm just not into military. I'd love to visit the ancient china palaces!~ Haha.

3 Pork Porridges

I suddenly got sick on Saturday after sharing a bowl of anyhowly (water and egg and msg and salt and sesame oil and pepper lol) cooked soup with Dad, who at that time had sore throat and I didn't realize that I shouldn't be sharing food with him. The whole family was sick at that time except me....so perhaps I shouldn't blame it on sharing the soup. Or maybe because I ate a packet of Hot & Spicy potato chips (that wasn't 'Hot & Spicy' at all...)

So anyway, up till today I'm still sick T_T

I went to the polyclinic today and I really dread going to the polyclinic near my house because since years ago, the minimum waiting time is definitely going to surpass 2 hours. Today I wasted 3 hours there.... I sometimes rather sleep off the sickness for 3 hours than sitting on the hard chair in the polyclinic for 3 hours, inhaling all the germs from the people who don't cover their mouth when they cough. Private doctor is about $40 - $60 per visit, so of course the whole neighbourhood goes to the polyclinic, which is usually less than $20. Heard from SX that the polyclinic at Seng Kang has a much shorter waiting time... around 30 minutes only. Maybe some doctors should be transferred over to our branch?

I have said this before, I really do not know why the other patients before me always take at least 20 - 30 minutes each while my stay in the doctor's room only last 2 minutes max. What are they doing inside? How come I always kena such rooms? Why haven't I, for at least once, been allocated to a room where the 10 patients before me are all common flu and cough and come out within 2 minutes max?

So anyway, after that I went to visit the cobbler near my house to repair my heels for the blog awards this weekend. I have not touched the heels for 2 years already I think, and when I took it out of my shoe rack, the platform fell off -_________-

I really do not know how my neighbourhood cobbler earns his keep. He charge around $0.20- $5 per shoe he repairs and he sits by the corner of the market every day since I was a kid. Our neighbourhood is not that big and I don't think everyone have shoes that spoil everyday. I think max he earn each day is $10 - $30 only lor!! Is that enough?

So anyway, usually he is a very good cobbler but this time he anyhow do my heels, I think I can even do a better job with my cheapo superglue lor. Plus he never align the straps properly and all that. Sigh, guess I'd have to throw this one away and find another pair of shoes for the awards night. So excited! Hope my sickness can go away just in time.....

For lunch I ate pork porridge, and I told the uncle I want to add egg. He never add lor! Lucky I mixed the porridge and checked! When I went back to say, the auntie add the egg in just like that!! The porridge is not burning hot by then, can like that meh? Later the egg can't cook how? But I also did not say anything I just eat it up.... :/

So just now, SX came to my house and bought a packet of pork porridge for me together with some healing tea. Later dad is gonna cook pork porridge for dinner. Hahaha 3 bowls of pork porridge for me today and nothing else~

Speaking of porridge, we had teochew porridge buffet at Windsor Hotel and we were the only customers there lol. But they didn't even have salted egg!! Isn't that one of the staple? There was prawn, steam fish, steam pork, etc though... For dinner it is $12.80++ per person... I though that it was quite cheap because if we eat at those teochew porridge stall outside, it is also about the same price. But I feel that eating porridge buffet is damn bohua because after 2 rounds max, you feel too full to continue! Plus the spread is not that amazing, just normal stuff that you eat with porridge... Don't think we will go back again~

When I received the invite for this Korean restaurant Bibigo, my first thought was "Ok I had wanted to try their food since a long time back!" My company has liaised with Bibigo before for one of our concerts, and I remember at backstage I was like "wow~~" over Bibigo's super nice packaging and presentation. Bibigo is owned by CJ Food, which is part of the CJ Group, a very big company in Korea. The group branches out to other businesses such as entertainment as well.

Brought Fidelis along to Raffles City, where their restaurant is located at!

If you are hungry or haven't had your meals, I suggest you stop reading from here onwards before I'm just gonna make you hungrier!

I'm not sure what this rice is, but it is very yummy!

This is some nutty drink but my tastebuds didn't really agree with it. Looks pretty though Haha

That dish above is yummy... but me and Fidelis both think that the star dish for that day was this meat dish below! Jae Hoon from Bibigo kindly showed us how we were supposed to eat this. Take a leaf from the roll (which is very expensive type of leaf, according to him), take a piece of the marinated spicy veg, and place a piece of meat into the combination and bite together. It's HEAVENLY. The meat did not have the type of smell whenever pork is steamed/boiled... It's very yummy! Me and Fidelis, TWO girls, finished the plate. Lol.

This is beef bowl, which I can't eat.

So I changed to chicken! We had to add our choice of sauces from the variety available, and we asked the staff which is the best sauce to use for this dish, and these 3 are!

Fidelis, Nadia and Jacelyn have been exercising a lot and it has been making me guilty about how I binge on food and not exercise at all! Every time I meet them they seem to be growing slimmer and slimmer while I've been growing fatter and fatter!! Guess I have to stop being so greedy and order so many food for meals... Sometimes I eat two main course for one meal; don't know why I so tam-jiak!

After the event, I head over to my grandparents house because it is my cousin's bday!

I didn't have any pictures of the birthday boy but I did have pictures of his cute baby sister hehe.

Just finished resizing a few batches of photos to blog about but uploading got some problem so I guess I shall forgo my plan of blogging a long entry tonight!

I spent almost the whole day sorting the pictures because the computer is so slow! Sometimes I wonder if the problem is that we increased our expectations of speed over time or computers are really getting laggy. It's really frustrating when your brain wants to do something but the machine you are using is moving slower than you by a million minutes. I feel like 1/10 of my time in front of the computer is spent doing real work and 9/10 of the time is staring frustratedly at the screen waiting for the loading bar that is not moving at all.

Maybe doing some charity will help.

If you can see from the picture above, my red hair fade already! A lot of people have been telling me that red dye fade easily..... Tomorrow I'm going to try and dye bright red again.... This time, I think I will heed the stylist's advice to not wash my hair for at least 24 hours.

Actually I really miss my previous light hair color.....

I've been looking at old pictures of myself... which is some time last year, when I had dark brown hair... I think I was thinner back then, or maybe it's the hair color, I looked so much better! But I don't think I should go back to dark brown now... or should I? It's so blah and boring!

Inside Out

Besides having really bad memory in the recent couple of years, I've also become more and more absent minded. Last night while having supper, my sister noticed that my shirt is inside out. After the funny conversation, I went back to the computer and totally forgot to change it back.

Then I went to sleep and woke up late today.

After using the computer for a couple of hours, I went to 7-11 downstairs to buy some potato chips and a drink...... On the way back, on the lift going up to my house, I realize I went out with the inside out shirt. Lol.

My sis was telling me "Eh Isaac's new picture very cute leh!"... I was thinking "huh? My friend Isaac?" A million thoughts went through my head... "I want go see how cute the picture is!" and "Eh, how come she will go see his picture and even notice it?"...

After 10 seconds...
I realise she was talking about our baby cousin, also named Isaac. Lol!!

My mum just finished watching TVB series Curse of the Royal Harem. I also watched bits and parts of it behind her and also followed the episode summary online. I think that it's a good show! I think Myolie is likeable in this series as she is not really Evil as her character was described to be. Although many may disagree, but throughout the series. her heart is still overall kind in nature, just somehow quite naive and spoilt. I could see that she had some sort of conscience even when she did bad things for her own benefit (isn't human's nature to be selfish?)...

Jessica's role was a kind girl at the beginning and in the end turned to a heartless person (only to people who were bad to her though... so she still had that BIT of goodness in her) after much happenings. I liked the character development for her and Myolie. The storyline was also good and I personally felt that the ending was perfect for the storyline. *Spoiler alert* Jessica did what she thought was right, and did not understand why the King disfavored her. However, the King did mention something at the end, something along the lines of 'yes, she was driven by circumstances, but she is not without a choice'. I felt that it was true. I also liked what the Empress Dowager said to Jessica before she drank the poison... About how it's like history repeating, Jessica being like Empress Dowager when she was younger, doing everything to climb up to the Queen seat, but end up is just a very lonely seat.

Go watch the series if you are free, I do think that it's worth watching! I liked Beyond The Realm Of Conscience, so I think if you liked that, you will like this series too! I love dramas that focus on character developments. I hate surface-skimming one-dimensional characters that are just villains without any depth.

Anyway, because of this drama, I got interested and researched on the different dynasties in Ancient China, and even read up about the Royal Harems, the lady costumes, court ladies, the various concubines and their characters. So interesting! I hope one day I can fly to China and visit one of the preserved royal palaces!

I'm not a lipstick person. Because I don't like having sticky things on my lips. Plus, most lipsticks are dry and looks horrendous on my dry lips.

But it seems like recently people have been encouraging me to put some color on my lips! Usually I only put lip balm, but I've also started toying with the idea of having some color on my lips to complete my makeup look.

Water supply kena cut off!

Seems like my whole block's water supply kena cut off!

Me and my family were happily using our computers a few minutes ago when suddenly the doorbell rang. The aunty next door came to ask if we could run water from our taps then we realise our water supply also kena cut!

The aunty said: "If it's no electricity still never mind" and my whole family was like "no electricity is the ultimate killer! Cannot use computer cannot switch on the lights cannot sleep because no fan no aircon!" If I had a choice I'd give up my water supply for electricity!

Don't need to worry because we still have drinking water in the kitchen - hot, normal temperature, and cold water. If not enough, still have a tray of ice. If still not enough, 7-11 is just a few minutes walk away.

But if we have no electricity, we don't have any "back up" nor can we buy from downstairs conveniently!

But I do hope that the water supply will return soon. I HAVE TO BATHE TOMORROW. And I don't want to see an un-flushed toilet bowl first thing in the morning!

My sister was telling me that lucky we are not bathing halfway. If I really was, no problem lah, I'd just get towel to wipe away the soap on my body. If I was shampooing, oh no..... Guess I'd have to sacrifice the bottle of cold water in the fridge then. Haha.

Hit Awards

I forgot whether it was me being sick or SX being sick or we just felt like having porridge. We went to have frog leg porridge at this place.

They also have many other type of porridge.

I couldn't resist BBQ chicken wings! It's damn yummy!

My mum was craving for egg tarts those few days, so we decided to buy egg tarts back for her. SX did some research and the reviews for Tong Heng was quite good, heard that it's quite famous too. And so, we went searching for the shop up and down Chinatown. After a long search, we stopped at a junction and while SX was trying to convince me to turn right instead of left, I spot it across the road there and then. Lucky I never listen to SX! Haha.

Ate two freshly baked ones there and brought home four. The egg tarts there sell off quite fast. The fillings is very soft and it's quite different from the usual eggtarts, I like it!

Went to Marina Bay Sands Kudeta for a work meeting last week and took a picture with the magnificent view outside!

Thanks to Fruit Tree Fresh for the invitation, I also went to Hit Awards with Benjamin! Most of the performers that attended were really talented and good singers, I enjoyed the show! ^^ Ding Dang is a very good live singer, and Olivia is one with damn good vocals. Had a great laugh when Michelle Chong, Hossan Leong and Auntie Lucy presented the awards. Eyecandies Tom Price, Elvin Ng, Jesseca Liu and Yen-J (he sang 好的事情, nice!!). Not forgetting Ben's idol Stefanie Sun, who was the biggest winner that night. Magic Power performed 不按牌理出牌 and Hu Xia sang 那些年, both songs I love.

I did not bleach my hair, so it's not really bright red, but I think it's striking enough! I think it's because usually people who dye red have short hair. I might want to make it brighter though. Good and Cheap Dimsum

Craved for Dimsum when I woke up last Sunday, so off I went to have dimsum at Geylang!

No wonder 126 is so famous. It's really good, and quite cheap!

After the late lunch, I met up with Fiona and Cassandra at Bugis and watched TinTin! Had wanted to watch another movie but Fiona mistook the timing :( The other movies available at that time we all watched before already, so no choice we went to buy tickets for TinTin although we didn't want to watch it in the first place! End up not bad lah the movie, quite funny!

I also watched You are the apple of my eye and 23:59 already.

I had high anticipation for "You are the apple of my eye" because Ao Quan is in the movie! Haha end up he is not the main lead. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie a lot because I like sweet innocent love ^^ I realise that it gets more and more complicated as I grow up, so I appreciate it when I see true sincere simple love.

Where to buy good faux eyelash

In one of my recent entry, I tried different styles of makeup, variations mostly at the eye area. However, I think the most important factor is the Eyelash!!! Don't you think so?? Don't you think my makeup looks so much better now, compared to 2 years back when I put eye makeup without fake eyelashes?!

Fake eyelashes usually make my eye look larger than it actually is and most of the time it creates a double eyelid for me! I'm naturally single eyelid, sadly. Eyelashes also help to make the eyes look more define and 'opens' up the brightness of the eye.

However, when choosing eyelashes, you need to find one that suits your eye. I personally do not like soft-bone lashes because I need to rely on the curve-structure to help me stick onto my eye easily.

Blink.sg has many different designs for you to choose from! I like that there are clear pictures indicating measurements too! Where else can you find such a detailed eyelash shop?

To be honest, I thought that it would be the filmsy type (usually when I buy eyelashes in whole boxes, it is always lousy) but surprisingly, I'm quite pleased with the quality and I love the style I chosen!

Makeup in different colors!

Some days back, I decided to try using the eye palette sponsored by Red Rouge Rally to do a few different styles according to the colors available.

Cropped my eye because I think it looks good in this picture. My eye definitely don't look like this most of the time :( Usually the eyelids crease unevenly!

Look #1: Used colors from the blue-purple and pink section for this look. I think it looks candy-sweet! Perfect for summer style.

Look #2: I attempted to do ocean/mermaid theme using several shades of blue. Looks like I need to practice more! Dress from http://theblogshop.sg

Look #3: I think this is close to my usual daily makeup, which is dark black. Used the black/grey colors from the palette. Cool studded biker jacket from TheBlogShop to go with the look!

Look #4: I also tried using yellow/brown tones for this look. If you like the owl dress/top I'm wearing, you can get it from http://mamatiam.com! Check out the red lips! I applied using the lipgloss available on the same palette. This is my favorite look out of all!

Birthday Dinner at Cliff

After a fun day at Universal Studios, he brought me to dinner at Cliff. It started raining shortly after we arrived at the restaurant. Thank goodness we finished the theme park in time without rain :) The Cliff is located at a secluded part of Sentosa beside the spa.

I don't have much to say. Enjoy the pictures ^^

It was a lovely birthday celebration and I remember feeling very happy on my birthday. That's a good thing :)

When I got home, the family surprised me with an unexpected birthday cake. In my favourite cake flavor - chocolate. Now I'm 21, and I still feel nothing like an adult. Haha.

My 21st Birthday

The actual day was spent with my boyfriend :) We had always wanted to go to Universal Studios but did not have a chance to do so. The tickets were expensive, so when I found out that MasterCard has a promotion with USS, 20% off ticket prices, we both felt that it was a good time to go! (Promo ends 18th November, for your info!)

He came to pick me up from my home and gave me my presents! It has been soooooooooooo long since the last time he gave me flowers T_T

I am finally going in!!!!! It was lucky that we did not pay extra for express tickets, because we went on a weekday and there was almost no queue at all. Most of the attractions we immediately get to play without waiting. The longest waiting time was probably 20 - 30 minutes and that was only for a couple of rides.

Hollywood

First thing we saw was 'Marilyn Monroe'! I wonder if there was any fan under her skirt or special flooring at that area cos her skirt was breezing upwards throughout.

We were so famished by the time we reached there, so we head to the nearest restaurant for lunch!

I LOVE THE SOUP. Gosh, I'm so totally craving for it right now. The soup has a thick herb taste and so yummy!

We went for the crate adventure.

Funny because we asked one of the staff if we will get wet inside, and he promised us that it's just "drizzle". In the end halfway through the journey, we saw waterfall approaching us, the type that will confirm get us drenched. We were like "Wah! This is drizzle ah??!!~~" But there's no turning back. In the end, chey, when we were just about to reach it, it moved away. Scare us only!!

Enchanted Airways!

I felt that it was similar to the 'Flying Dragon' ride at Genting theme park. I think it was supposed to be a kids ride but actually quite thrilling and fun!

We also went to the 4D motion ride, featuring Shrek, Pinocchio and other characters.

Next,
The Lost World

The queue for this kids ride was kinda long, but still acceptable.. Very simple game, just flying round and round.

I was admiring his side profile while he sort out issues with the restaurant that he would be bringing me to for dinner.

We are finally on the ride! My hand not long enough to show the dinosaur we sat on...

Thirsty girl need water.

This is a scared-looking SX, on the Canopy Flyer ready to fly!

It looks like this. We sat on the frontal-flying one! He was so traumatised after the first round that I couldn't get him to join me on a 2nd round trying the backways-flying. In fact, we only played each ride ONCE!! How can!

We totally underestimated this ride. From the ground, it looks like it moves slowly. But when you are really up there, it's actually quite fast. Not really speedish fast, but fast enough to feel the thrill and slow enough to be able to see that we are so high up away from the ground. Maybe this is why it was quite scary.

Ancient Eygpt

You mean modern Eygpt don't look like this anymore?

After the Canopy Flyer, we decided on the tamer kids ride.

This is the 'Treasure Hunters' ride. Basically just a ride on a desert jeep around the supposedly "abandoned Egyptian excavation site"

Revenge of the Mummy was fun, BUT QUITE SCARY!!! (eh, I cannot find another word for 'scary'. So many times I mentioned the word 'scary' already!) It's pitch dark inside, so I wouldn't know if I'm flung out! Er anyway, I closed my eyes despite it already being pitch dark haha cos I was afraid that anything would suddenly appear and shock us lol *Spoiler sentence after this* I like that there was a part where the vehicle reversed backwards suddenly. *Spoiler sentence ends*

I've never played 'Panasonic' at Escape Theme Park before it closed down. According to SX, 'Panasonic' is more scary..... Hmm.

Sci-Fi City

And now, highlight of the day.... Battlestar Galactica. Actually SX insisted on not going (he really got a big scare on the Canopy Flyer LOL), but he went anyway in the end.

Okay, my opnion? I felt that the Blue one was so much scarier than the red one. SX felt that the blue one was fun and the Red one was more scary.

I'm glad that I tried the Red one first, because if I had tried the Blue one first, I might be too scared to try the Red one. So anyway, I went on the Red one expecting alot more but end up not THAT scary lah. The most scary part was the steep drop at the start. I felt like my heart was stuck at the top and could not come back down to join my body haha. After that the ride was fine. There wasn't anything to hold on to at the top (you know how usually rollercoasters have that big seatbelt thing that covers the upper torso, which you can grab onto?). This one you are only secured from the waist down. So you have to hold on to your seat, which is not easy to grab onto. Haha. But I felt quite ok on the ride, probably because there was a platform for us to step on underneath our seats, and each row the 4 seats are connected so I do not feel alone.

As for the Blue one, I thought it will be abount the same as the Red one, but I was truly wrong~ Unlike the red, this one leaves your legs dangling and your seat is separated from the rest of the people on the same row, so it feels like even if you are detached and flying away you also won't know it! I'm especially scared of thrill rides that are individual seats instead of one long train/ connected seats. Also, I have tried upside down rides before but usually you won't be able to really feel being upside down because it's moving so fun, but the Blue one really made me feel that I was upside down! After too many turns, I couldn't feel if I was upright or upside down anymore haha.

Rested for awhile and played the Accelerator. Siao right?! So giddy from the Battlestar already still go sit 'teacup ride'! I actually thought that we can control the speed ourselves like the usual 'teacup ride' but turns out we had no say in the speed at all~~~

This is SX after so many scary rides hahaha. WEAK.

New York

I really love the design of their buildings! Every single building makes an awesome backdrop.

I love the "New York" theme the most!! Such interesting buildings, I felt like I stepped into the movies! Now I really really want to go to New York. It just feels so magical.

If our cabs look like that it'd be so much more fun! Haha.

Our final attraction of the day, "Lights Camera Action".

It's a stimulation of how it feels like to be in the middle of a hurricane, minus the flying away part. Fire spread in the waters and to be honest, although I know the whole thing was staged, it still felt scary to be so near the fire with everything falling.

It was kinda late by the time we finished a round. Still got some rides I haven't play! Rapids Adventure was under development and we didn't try some kids ride because we were afraid we wouldn't have enough time for the highlights. If I go again, I want to play everything!

ClubCouture is always up to date with the latest trends, so it wasn't difficult for me to find a few pieces to do up a Fall 2011 Style entry!

1) Collar
Peterpan collars are hot this season and it has been implemented in plenty of new blouse designs. Remember the outfit I wore to Singtel Event some weeks back? The Collar Sheer Blouse was from ClubCouture! I wore it with a black tube because I had a work meeting before the event. If not, I might have wore a shorter tube :)

2) Red
Red is a color that most people won't dare to wear, but it can look really good against fair skin tone. It's a great color for the upcoming festive season too. I paired it with black jacket and black leggings. I love the ruffles of the red top, which adds some interesting detail to the simple look.

A very random entry just to clear my backlog! :p Have not been taking much pictures recently, thus could not really do a very precise blog entry. Nothing interesting anyway, just food and shopping!

Went to Orchard with my family, grandparents and uncle. My baby cousin sleeping:

Went to the airport with bf. This is the 2nd time we went there. 1st time, we quarreled. 2nd time? We also quarreled -.-

So anyway, it wasn't a very happy date. Maybe our "eight characters" and that place clash. Had Pizzahut for late dinner because most of the shops were closed by the time we reconciled. Quarreled again halfway into the meal. Haha!

My Nuffnang Story

Blogging, is a huge part of my life. A lot of my closer friends are bloggers themselves and I really love hanging out with them because I never have to feel shy about whipping out my camera at the dinner table, or taking pictures of ourselves 15 times in a row.

I've been blogging for 5 years already and I have to say that if I were to give up blogging now, there would be a huge empty patch in my heart. I enjoy new experiences and sharing my thoughts and personal life. I love blogging and having an audience.

Here, I share my journey with Nuffnang (who managed me & my blog) and how they played a part in my blogging career. The list below is only some that I managed to find!! Still got lots more not included!

2007
- Joined Nuffnang
At that time, advertising and banner ads was not very common among blogs in Singapore. Then, along came Nuffnang which changed the blogosphere in Singapore.

- First event with Nuffnang
I vividly remember this day. Isaac took part in Nuffnang's National Day movie giveaway and brought me along together with Benjamin!

At that point in time, I have not met most of the bloggers I know today, such as Nadia, Winnie, Peggy, Jayden, etc etc. I didn't talk to them at all that day, but I blogged about it haha. You know how I got to know Jayden? I read his blog a few times way before I became a blogger myself but I did not tell him that. During the event, he asked for a picture and eventually we hung out together with Isaac and I invited him to our joint birthday party and afterwards was history. Haha.

Look at my face. In the past, this kind of face also can attract plenty of readers. Now? Wait long long lor, so many pretty bloggers to compete against. Sigh! Lucky I started out early!!!

From this day, I attended countless movie premieres by invitation from Nuffnang. Great isn't it? ^_^

I recently modelled for Giselle's Closet, and the new collection with me in it is launched~!

If you like what I'm wearing in this picture, both the top and the red skirt can be found in this new collection. It comes in a wide variation of different colors. Giselle's Closet has plenty of designs suitable for the office, yet each piece have a feature that takes you out of the usual boring style. Nadia, Me and Fidelis planned our Sunday at Milly's salon together so that we can chat while the manicurists work on making our nails pretty!

I finished my session first so I went to do my hair at Essensuals Bugis. It's just beside Bugis Street, so convenient for me hehe.

Made Fidelis and Jeremy wait so long for me but finally I was done and we drove to a Thai eatery that Fidelis recommended. It is located at Sunshine Plaza. I don't know what is the name of the shop though.

My fave thai food is Basil Chicken ^_^ The thai food here is indeed nice!

Totally in love with this dress! It looked plain and simple when I took it from the rack but with a belt the whole look changed! I love such classic pieces with a little edge. I do not know how I should classify this look. Is it more towards mature style or cutesy? I can totally imagine it on office ladies heading to meetings but the color is just so vividly young!

Thanks to everyone who attended... especially those who came from the other end of the island! Many friends couldn't make it and plenty had last minute crop ups :( Nevertheless, I was really happy and I appreciate those who made the effort. Love you all!

Special thanks to my sis who helped me with cutting the decorations (while grumbling). I left all the tedious procedures to her hahaha.

And to her boyfriend who came early to pump balloons for the whole afternoon. (These balloons ended up being burst by the kids at the end of the night. Every single one of the balloons that he painstakingly pumped lol)

My dad helped me to cut out glittery foam for my name and BF pasted those balloons haha.

My color and size distribution of the lollipops fail. Haha.

Luckily Chris offered to take some pictures for me. The suite had really low lighting, it was difficult to capture good photos using my own camera. Most of the pictures below belonged to him. The bright ones credit him. The yellowish and grainy ones are mine haha.

Right after coming back from the Genting trip, we checked into my Birthday venue the next day to stay for a night!

Went shopping for snacks and food for BBQ!

We basically just slacked around till night time then we went to BBQ!

Eh eh, I also got help out ABIT in bbq-ing ok....

The next morning, we had instant noodles on the electric stove we brought from home!

Night date

It has been a long time since me and bf went on a proper date, and so to celebrate one of our anniversaries, we decided to have dinner at Chijmes :)

I've never been here for meals before. The only times I've been here were years ago when I was conducting shoots for models. I've always find it a nice place for romance!

Our restaurant was La Viva, a Spanish restaurant.

We chose to sit indoors. I like the interior!

The highlight was the mains! I had meat combo while SX had the seafood combo.

Look at those scallops!!!

What a great pile. Haha.

We took quite some time to finish our mains as the portion was huge! Then it's time for dessert!

The waitress helped us to take a picture of both of us. His face is red from the wine! Haha.

We wandered around outside after dinner. The ambiance was great for a nice sweet walk!

It's our last day in Genting! :(

We went to MarryBrown again to have their nasi lemak breakfast with fried chicken. Kinda disappointing because they gave us breastmeat although we said we wanted thigh. And it's spicy, so it's a different recipe which is far from the yumminess of the original. But, the rice was good!

Grandparents and mum went for casino again so me, my sis and dad went to the garden!! We always go there in previous trips~

It used to have a pebble path for us to walk barefooted. Now no more! I still have old videos of us acting like we are running on those painful pebbles but actually we were wearing shoes haha.

Besides that, most of the garden hadn't change.

Stopped midroute to buy souvenirs home! Lots of snacks made in Malaysia.

Dinner was at Yong Peng again. Ate mee soto this time round and it was so much nicer than the fishball noodles we had on Day1.

Back to Singapore and to our beloved bed and soft toys ^_^

I clicked on MAMATIAM, one of my apparel sponsor which is also an online wholesale store selling clothes at super good pricings, and saw that recently they have been uploading alternative pictures beside those professionally taken by Taiwanese models before import! I think that it is very good because many people have feedback to me over the past few years that they prefer Singapore blogshops over those from Taiwan/Hongkong because the pictures are too good and usually distorts quality and cutting.

I used to think that way too. A few years ago when I took part in sprees for clothes from other sites, the clothes always turn out different. But recently it has improved by heaps! Most of the clothes I order from such sites turn out exactly like what they were in the pictures. Am very pleased! If you are worried, you should totally head to Mamatiam, where there are also normal pictures taken for you to gauge.

3rd day at Genting, and because we decided not to go to the Outdoor Theme Park this year, we had lots of time to do many other stuffs!

Woke up for breakfast at Hainan kitchen. 5 minutes after looking at the breakfast menu, the service staff came to change our menu to the lunch menu because breakfast time has just ended -.- Why didn't they just give us the lunch menu in the first place...

It wasn't so misty anymore so we walked outside. Go to Genting is to enjoy the cool air outside!!!!

Asked daddy to pose there for me to take picture not because I wanted a picture of him, but more of because I like the castle behind :D

Mum was tempted to try out this soup place, and since they had set lunch (rice & soup) sold at RM8.50, we decided to try out!

Bad choice! One small piece of meat per bowl lor. Not full at allllllll.

Grandparents headed off to the casino and we headed off to sing karaoke! Prices start from RM60 with 2 free bottles of water for 2 hours, maximum 8 pax. That's very cheap!

After waffles, we played Archery!

My arms had muscle cramps for the whole next day -_-

I'm glad I didn't live in the olden times. My archery skills FAIL!

Arcade!!!!! We tried the "carnival" games first. It's so difficult to win and each try is RM4.

Played the electronic games and I hit JACKPOT for this game out of luck! I was supposed to guess "Heads or Tails" and I got it correct 7 or 8 times and won 1000 tickets!!!! I guessed "tail" all the way because it kept appearing "tail" first few times and thought that the machine something wrong. When I won the game, we all looked at the machine in shock and could not believe it at all. Yoohoo! We tested the machine again 2 more times just to see if I had won by pure luck or if the machine is really spoilt. Lol. It was truly luck.

Dinner time was at this buffet place. It's a MUST-EAT at Genting.

They have many different types of cuisine, and some they cook it for you on the spot.

This was Dad's. He decorated every single one of his dish nicely lol. I thought buffets were supposed to be messy?

While we were in Kuala Lumpur, we also went to Mid Valley Mega Mall. It is indeed huge, but not many shoppers. Guess it was because it was still early afternoon and a weekday.

Heading down to Kuala Lumpur was actually a last minute decision after we reached Genting. I initially packed this outfit for the cold weather at Genting, but after wearing it down to Kuala Lumpur, I'm glad I didn't wear this for a full day at the chilly mountain top. The dress looks long but it is mostly semi-transparent net, thus quite airy! Suitable for Singapore weather! I got this dress from PERRYAMBER.

There was this controller thing beside each toilet bowl but I didn't really bother about it. But both my sis and my mum itchy hand go turn it!!!! End up one kena water on face and one kena water on clothing. LOL!

This staff was skinning coconuts in the middle of the supermarket. Looks fresh and nice so we bought one to bring back to the hotel to eat!

The roast duck noodles here are expensive, probably due to its prime location, but the portion is big too~ The sauce taste like chee cheong fan sauce O____O

We decided not to head to the outdoor theme park on this trip, but we wanted to play at least one roller-coaster ride. And so... we bought the "pay per ride" tickets. Expensive lor, per person RM8 for ONE ride~ Better to buy the "unlimited play" tickets.

Was fun! I could go again and again on this ride. It wasn't peak period, so there was NO QUEUE!!!!! In previous years we always had to wait quite long just for a short ride.

Sat at Mcdonalds to use free wifi again... This time, we didn't buy anything. Haha damn thick skin.

Best Yong Tau Foo I tasted in my ENTIRE life.

Guess where we went early next morning?? Downhill to Kuala Lumpur!

Roast pork for sale. It looks so tempting, grandma bought some!

In Singapore, most of the places selling roast pork buy them from wholesalers and do not taste that good. But the roast pork here is self-roasted by each stall in the morning just before selling, thus fresh and yummy!

Since young, whenever we head to Kuala Lumpur, our first stop would definitely be this Yong Tau Foo stall. I have to say, this is the best Yong Tau Foo I have ever ate. Yong Tau Foo in Singapore is so bland and the fillings are usually not very nice, but this stall in Kuala Lumpur has good soup and good fried beancurd skin wrapped with fish & meat!

We had extra helpings of the beancurd skin because it's just too good! Even after coming back to Singapore I was still craving for this Yong Tau Foo.

The tasty Yong Tau Foo stall looks like this. Judging from the signboard, I think it's at Madras Lane.

Nearby there is this humble pork congee stall with the yummiest pork congee I have ever ate (besides the chai chee pork congee at Bedok85). Sadly, it was Tuesday when we went down and it was closed that day :( In fact, they are closed on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. -_- Why? Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday more people eat congee?

After I took this picture of the porcupines, dad told me not to disturb because they can shoot out their needles at me. I thought their needles only extend and poke the predator if touched? GENTING 1.

It was a great trip with my family and grandparents. Bought the first night stay at $2 each twin room at one of the group deal site! However, the coach we took was not the same one that we usually take... Prefer our usual coach! BUT, the whole bus only had us and one other silent couple, so it does seem like we had a private bus all to ourselves!

Wonder why all coaches stop at this food place in Yong Peng. Nothing delicious here and it is infested with flies. Much better than 2 years ago though. I remember when I was a kid I took lots of pictures with this fish fountain!

& we finally arrived at Genting! Our room was at First World Hotel tower 1. Realise from past experiences is that rooms in tower 2 are much spacious.

Shared a room with my sis! We used to share a room as a family (the rooms and bed were larger in previous years' rooms), but now I can just throw my things anywhere on the dressing table. No need to be neat! :p

Our rooms felt more eerie and darker than my parents' room. Luckily, we were connected by a door in between!

Head down for some snacks. We love Marrybrown!! Wish they would open some branches in Singapore.

The journey took half day away! It's time for dinner!

The assam sotong and sambal kangkong was fantastic. Craving now!

Took a walk outside and found a coffeeshop with this signboard at its door.Why cannot bring in Chee Cheong Fun? Why the special mention?

Mum and Grandma donated their coins for me to call SX via public phone! It's really expensive just for afew minutes chat!

The mist was the thickest on our first night there. It wasn't so cold for many years already.

Found wifi at Mcdonalds and so we bought a pack of small fries to sit there and whatsapp boyfriend. Haha. So much cheaper than calling lor!

Luckily I packed face masks! Placed one every night before I sleep due to the harsh weather. Also remember to apply lipbalm if not lips will swollen (well, it happened to me afew times before)!

To summarise, first night at Genting was quite relaxing and we did not rush to do anything. The adults were quite eager to head to the casino though :p

Scrub and Massage

Was so exhausted after the holiday at Genting and my birthday party. Thank goodness Jean Yip's Loft invitation came just at the right time! Rushed down after work and only had some fries and chicken tenders. The bus stopped right in front of their building!

Was impressed by the interior when I entered. After a lovely introduction by the friendly manager there, I had a 30mins Vanilla Scrub session and a 1 hour body massage. The therapist was very nice and they usually customize their service according to your preference. For example, I didn't like hard massages and so she did it relaxing for me!

After the session, I felt much better and had the tea and dessert they prepared for me :) If you are heading over, perhaps try the apple scrub? It smells great! There are also many other services available at Jean Yip's Loft for hair and nails too.

Anyway, I'm loving what I wore that day! The lovely blue dress is from Missqueenie :)

DIY Cute Erasers

I did Candy Sushi previously. This time, I'm making Cute Erasers, using this kit!!

There are other options like Burger combo meal, donuts, cakes, but I chose Ice Cream!

It's like playing with plasticine. Haha.

Press everything into the mould according to the instructions. Remember to add a few droplets of water so that it will not stick onto the mould!

Place one each into the box provided and add water till above its height and microwave it for 2 - 3 minutes.

And tada! Real erasers!!! Lol sorry for the fingerprint on the cookie!

My favorite is the cookie haha. Look at how tiny it is!! Can you spot it below?

Was invited to the Aldo party at Zouk some weeks back. I love Aldo for their super-high heels!

Candy Sushi

It's just simply adding sachets of powder, add water, and mix!

Then comes the most fun part!!! Making 'fish roe'!

My seaweed abit fail but look at the fish roe toppings!! Look very real right?

Me and BF did something stupid that day!

Actually, just me.

We were having dinner when we suddenly decided to watch movie. I wanted to watch Bad Teacher, so I used his mobile phone to book tickets. I was so happy because I found a slot at the shopping mall we are at and the timing was so suitable. Plus got corner two-person seat!! So I happily clicked confirm and bought the tickets using his card.

Then I said, "It's $40 today" aloud to BF, like it's alright. Cos I was thinking $10 per person, so $40 did seem correct. (Maths super fail -_-)

BF opened his eyes big big and said "What?? Why $40?!"

And then I suddenly realised what I done and this time it was me who did a O_O face back at him. I BOOKED THE PREMIUM CLASS TICKETS BY MISTAKE. $40 for a pair of tickets. We are not even rich and we are paying double on a normal day???!!!!! It's not even our anniversary or any special occasion!!! Plus the movie we are watching is not even those action pack hollywood blockbuster. It's "bad teacher" for goodness sake; the kind of the movies we can watch on DVDs.

-_- So anyway, we went in and was quite awed la. The movie was good, I like that Cameron Diaz is so cool ^_^

Another movie we watched recently was Contagion. I like the movie! It's so scary, like how a virus could be spreaded so easily. More scary than Sars, H1N1, etc! The virus kills so fast, there isn't even time to say goodbye :( Hope such virus never ever happens. At the end of the movie, it shows what happened at the start and why the virus was spreaded so quickly. I think the possiblity of it happening is very high lor, if the virus formula was true.

Then, we watched Fright Night, tickets given by Nuffnang. It's exciting and thrilling~! The storyline is simple but still, I had to grasp on BF's arm at some points of the story because the vampires are scary! I'm not sure if the movie is still screening, but I think it is worth a watch.

After the movie BF brought me to eat "Yu Tou Ru", Fish Head Steamboat. But the stall he chose wasn't fantastic... Had a hard time with the fish meat cos it was so full of bones! The soup became better and better after some time though.

BF pouring soup for me :) One thing I like about him is that when we dine, he always kiap food for me and put it on my plate. I find it very manly and I like being taken care of. Hehe. And when we eat some dishes like curry fish head, he always give me alot of meat when he knows I like them and he eats mostly veggies cos I don't like eating them. Don't like guys who snatch all the good food from me!! :P

I think it is his natural personality la, I don't think it's because he loves me especially or what. I'm sure he does that for all his ex girlfriends. Haha.

Circle Line brings you Life!
Uncovering the unexpected delights through Circle Line.

Hosted a yummy and fun makan session with my readers last weekend!

It was held conveniently at Esplanade Xchange, which is easily accessible via Esplanade MRT! If you do not know yet, Esplanade is just one of the stops in circle line that has a wide variety of shopping and dining options! The food we had were all within steps of each other in Esplanade Xchange!

I rode on the circle line with my sister to reach my destination.

The SMRT Circle Line is the first fully underground orbital line that links all MRT lines running into the city. Commuters may bypass busy interchanges like City Hall and Raffles Place by taking the Circle Line. Each train has three cars, 148 seats and can take up to 931 passengers. All stations have wide fare gates, lifts at the entrances and platforms and handicapped-friendly toilets. At the interchange stations, the connections to the different lines are also wheelchair-friendly.

The SMRT Circle Line stages 4 & 5 commence service on 8th October 2011, hence bringing the entire Circle Line network route to 33km. The full Circle Line network stretches from HarbourFront to Dhoby Ghaut, bringing convenience to residents staying near the stations and cutting back on travelling time to popular places such as Holland Village, National University of Singapore and Indoor Stadium.

Circle Line certainly saved a lot of time.
Just an example, my bf works at Serangoon. Sometimes I visit him for lunch and then head to Paya Lebar for shopping at my sponsors' stores. In the past, I have to take the North East Line, and then transfer to East-West Line. The whole journey would take 32 mins. Now? It will only take me 9 minutes! That's 23 minutes saved for me to spend more time with bf!

We had a little game session to break the ice!

That was me quizing the readers on my table with SMRT circle line related questions!

Both men at my table won the little quiz! One answered correctly a questions regarding bubble tea's origin and another surprisingly knew the shopping malls near Esplanade Xchange (shouldn't the girls win this question?!) - Answer: Marina Square, CityLink & Raffles City Shopping Centre.

Next up was Red Mango yogurt for dessert! Everyone had a cup of Red Mango’s Yogurt Muesli with choice of yogurt (original or flavor of the day ((Pomegranate that day yummy!)) or twist) with granola, mixed nuts and mango.

Spending today with BF, since I already had a birthday party last weekend. Yesterday we had this conversation on Whatsapp.

BF: You better like your present hor. If not I skin you alive.
ME: Hehe. Got handwritten love card or not.
BF: Noooooooooooo.
ME: Why :(
BF: Give before le so don't have.
ME: WHY

Then he proceeded to tell me his plan for today. The plan was to have breakfast, head to USS, have lunch there, and then a "expensive" dinner.

ME: No need wear gown de right?
BF: Need hor. I also got bring clothes to change.
ME: Need meh. Haha you help me carry?
ME: Need me bring the canvas tote?
BF: U help me carry ar Haha
ME: Idiot. Tomorrow I princess leh.
ME: Tomorrow got white horse and carriage come fetch me anot. I want.
BF: No white horse but got handsome prince haha.

Yesterday on the way home I asked dad "Are we going to celebrate with the leftover cake from the party? Lol."

Dad: Inside my stomach already.
Me: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Sobs :'(
