城寨英雄

My top 5 TVB drama of 2016 (till date), according to sequence. Technically, the year hasn't end so I can't really say top 5 but I couldn't wait to share this! Haha. Do watch these dramas if you are free!

I am a huge fan of most TVB dramas, but I just found a new favourite, 城寨英雄 Fist Within Four Walls. I took an interest to the Kowloon Walled City while researching for my Hong Kong trip few years back, and this story takes place in Kowloon Walled City in the early 1960s.

This period drama is part martial arts part comedy. I especially like the love story between 拳佬 ~ 刁蘭 and 龍成虎 ~ 柯德莉! This is the 2nd drama that made me like Ruco Chan alot, after Brother's Keeper in 2013. (Oh ya he was also quite cool in the finale scene of Captain of Destiny.)

Also a favourite, EU超時任務 Over Run Over. "The show centers on a police officer who, after traveling back in time to prevent her father's death, experiences severe repercussions of the butterfly effect." It was interesting to watch how everything affects everything and the conclusion that sometimes turning back time may make situations worse. The awesome thing is, it's not just a straightforward turn-back-time story, it's actually quite complicating with all the plots connected in one huge cycle. I liked Vincent Wong's performance here, especially towards the end.

Before that I watched 潮流教主 Fashion War, which is mainly office politics in a magazine editorial setting. Quite interesting and fast paced. Another worth mentioning is 殭 Blue Veins, a modern vampire drama. It was a little slow and boring at first but the concept is unique.

I also enjoyed  鐵馬戰車 Speed of Life, mainly because of Benjamin Yuen's funny antics and his relationship with Natalie Tong in the drama.

Don't mind re-watching all of the above!

Update:  幕後玩家 Two Steps From Heaven is quite interesting too!

Seng Kang Food Vending Machine

Some time back when the news about the Seng Kang void deck food vending machines came out, Bf suggested to go visit and try it. But because of the reported hour-long queue due to its novelty, we decided to wait. After all, it's just vending machine lah, not worth queuing so long for!

Then yesterday, we were around the area to pick up my taobao shopping so we went to check it out lor! Luckily, there were only 1-2 people infront of us so the wait wasn't very long.

After choosing from either the Asian or Western menu, "cooking time" takes 3 mins (no wonder the wait was an hour for those who came during the first few days). After that, the microwaved bento comes out from the machine piping hot! There was even a cutlery box with serviette provided. We also ordered drinks from the other machines. There were snacks too, but it's even better if they serve fried chicken chunks, fries, etc for dull peckish afternoons at home!

I was initially quite skeptical about the taste but I was slightly relieved when I read some online reviews that the food tasted okay, something like airline food. Afterall, I'm used to eating microwaved food from 7-11 so it shouldn't be too bad for me. Bf's salted egg yolk shrimp pasta tasted abit fake, but my sambal ikan goreng rice was quite yummy. The chili is good! If only there's something like that at my void deck too... the nearest coffee shop is a distance away and sometimes I'm too lazy to walk that far!

VendCafe is located at Block 320C Anchorvale Drive.

Japan - Disneysea

We had time for either Tokyo Disneyland or Disneysea. After some research online, we decided on the latter, mainly because we have already visited Disneyland in Hong Kong before and there's no other country in the world with Disneysea except Japan.

Most reviews describe Disneyland as more suitable for kids, while adults usually prefer Disneysea.

Got our entrance tickets! :)

Courtship before our era

I'm feeling all sweet inside now because today's episode of the drama is so touching. Wah if got guy say those words to me, I will melt please!

I really like how the guy is so honest and direct about his feelings towards the girl even though he knows she doesn't feel the same towards him. It's so refreshing! I really dislike guys who are 吞吞吐吐,婆婆妈妈,拖拖拉拉. Come on be a man!

And his 深情的眼神. It's been a long time since someone looked at me that way sia.

While brushing my teeth before going to bed and reminiscing the scenes, I suddenly realise, I never ever had a guy confess to me face to face before leh. Of course they did sweet talk infront of me afterwards, what I meant was, the "first" time they expressed interest.

If I didn't remember wrongly, ever since my first suitor, all said they liked me via TEXT??? At most also through a phone call? Woes of living in this generation :(

The guys have it too easy now!

日久生情

Let's talk about courtship!

Everytime I watch a drama, there's bound to be some love story in it and those scenes are my favourite part. After watching I would lay in bed, heart melting, dreaming....

I even went to search for idol drama confession scenes on YouTube before. Cos I wanted that feeling, but wasn't watching any show at the moment. Lol. So shortcut lor haha but it's not easy to find lah. Most of the time still need to watch the entire drama just to catch those few scenes.

My favourite type of "love story" are those 日久生情 type. I cannot understand love at first sight. For me first sight at most attraction only lor, where will feel so much? At most I'd go "omg so cute I wanna marry him" but I wouldn't really marry him cos his looks are the only thing I feel about him?

I don't believe those that say "Love" when they haven't even had enough conversations or experiences together.

Whereas in 日久生情 type of love, usually the pair will start off as friends, then start having feelings for each other without knowing, progress to some 暧昧, then confession. Wah this one then sweet please. I like!

Pokemon Go Nails

Met up with Nadia yesterday to do our nails together at Milly's!

We spent the past few weeks bouncing nail design ideas to and fro but couldn't come to a decision. Then last weekend, Pokemon Go arrived at our shore and we decided to do Pokemon Go nails in conjunction with the hype!

Check out how cute they are! *squeals in delight*

Japan - Mt Fuji

The happiest moments of our trip to Japan, would most probably be at Mt Fuji, because this is where we saw and played with falling snow for the first time.

We were intending to go Mt Fuji 5th Station like all other tourists, but due to a last minute change, we visited a Ski Resort instead. Even so, we did not expect to see falling snow because we were in between seasons. Just a day ago we saw Sakura and that itself is almost a miracle already. So can you imagine how happy we were that we got to experience both?

Faded

I've decided not to bother about those who don't bother.
