Seng Kang Food Vending Machine

Some time back when the news about the Seng Kang void deck food vending machines came out, Bf suggested to go visit and try it. But because of the reported hour-long queue due to its novelty, we decided to wait. After all, it's just vending machine lah, not worth queuing so long for!

Then yesterday, we were around the area to pick up my taobao shopping so we went to check it out lor! Luckily, there were only 1-2 people infront of us so the wait wasn't very long.

After choosing from either the Asian or Western menu, "cooking time" takes 3 mins (no wonder the wait was an hour for those who came during the first few days). After that, the microwaved bento comes out from the machine piping hot! There was even a cutlery box with serviette provided. We also ordered drinks from the other machines. There were snacks too, but it's even better if they serve fried chicken chunks, fries, etc for dull peckish afternoons at home!

I was initially quite skeptical about the taste but I was slightly relieved when I read some online reviews that the food tasted okay, something like airline food. Afterall, I'm used to eating microwaved food from 7-11 so it shouldn't be too bad for me. Bf's salted egg yolk shrimp pasta tasted abit fake, but my sambal ikan goreng rice was quite yummy. The chili is good! If only there's something like that at my void deck too... the nearest coffee shop is a distance away and sometimes I'm too lazy to walk that far!

VendCafe is located at Block 320C Anchorvale Drive.
